didn't Nintendo buy many rights to SEGA?  So if anything, it'll be a collaboration between the two.  But I believe there is still a lot of bad blood between the two, and SEGA seems to fit the SONY system best.  But I don't think SEGA will ever join another company to make a console; if they ever come back with console hardware, it'll be their own.

No there were rumors of a buyout in 2003 but it never happened.

the virking game was a good game that was out a couple of months ago. but to get back to what they was in the 90's cannot see that happening. there was talk of EA making there own machine at some point in the furture. so if EA got sega you never know!

They're not half as good as they used to be. I'm not saying Sega will become as good/bad as Rare, they'll just go down the same road that Rare did. That is, they'll become even worse.

have you actually played any of the new Rare titles to be able to say that?

Yes, of course I have, all of them. They were once among my favourite developers. But even you have to admit that, compared to the greatness they used to have, they've gone somewhat downhill since being bought by Microsoft. Whether they've gone downhill by a significant margin is debatable, but the quality's decreased nonetheless.

Honestly I think its only after all these years RARE is finally getting a decent chance to show what they've got since they've joined MS, games like Kameo and VP show that they are still capable of high quality games, I would also argue that if PDZ wasnt a launch title that was rushed through it would have been a pretty damn good game too (the sp anyway, the mp was good).

With 2 games coming out that look fantastic (VP 2 and Banjo) I think RARE is at their best in years, and will redeem themselves in the eyes of many gamers

agreed, VP was both amazingly fun to play and is still one of the best looking games, and BK3 looks like a blast

You just asked for him to stop turning it into a console war, then contributed to it yourself.

No, you looked like the bigger man for a second, then sunk to his level and made yourself look even douchier.

E3 has begun my friends start the console war ramblings! I shall begin witha great quote I read this morning!

quote:

Wii isn't a rival to the PlayStation 3 because it doesn't offer the broader features of the Sony console, including the ability to watch movies and access the Internet, Sony Chief Executive Officer Howard Stringer said in an interview.

``I've played a Nintendo Wii,'' Stringer said last week at the Allen & Co. media conference in Sun Valley, Idaho. ``I don't see it as a competitor. It's more of an expensive niche game device. We're selling a lot of PlayStation 3s now and it's still the best way to buy a Blu-ray player.''

I suppose they're not competing in terms of quality (not to suggest that one's better than the other, but they're both in leagues of their own) but he's a little ignorant for thinking that they don't need to worry about the Wii.

Of course, this is just trash talking, like they all do. I don't think they believe half of what they're saying most of the time.
