Square is going after more money, they even said it when they explained why it will be in america on 360.

The GTA IV making 1,000,000 sales on PS3 and 1,750,000 on 360 in the first week in one region says everything in that argument.

exactly, they need money and microsoft could supply it. really squares financial issues are there own doing if they wouldve focused more on the home systems in the first place this gen theyd be rolling in money like they were last gen

Can you blame Square for trying to grab a larger fan base and more money potential?

Just by becoming multiplatform they have more then doubled their fanbase.

Actually your argument makes no sense at all. Making games for handhelds is probably 10 times cheaper than making a game for the PS3 or the 360. Yet they sell more copies on handhelds in Japan because handhelds have the highest install base.

Why make a game for PS3 that will cost 100 million in development costs and take 4 years to make and you only have about 2 million potential customers. When you can make a DS game for about a million and have over 20 million potential customers.

Making PS3 eclusives is the least viable way for making profit. Highest development costs and also the lowest install base.

Game companies don't care about making fanboys happy, they care about making money. If they don't make money they cease to exist. It is pretty self-explanatory.
