Halo cannot be ran anymore into the ground as games like Mario. Halo has had 3 games of the same type focused on one character in a giant universe. Halo Wars is Pre-Master Chief and covers the first engagements with the Covenant. The Halo universe includes more spartans still living and even a the forerunner story. I would love to see a space ship based RTS Halo like the game Homeworld as the Halo books are filled with space engagements.

That being said, I don't equate best sales figures to being the best game; god knows there have been some crappy games with good sales, and some great games without great sales.

Even if Halo 4 came to PS3, I'm pretty sure no one would care and it would sell tons on 360 and 0 copies on PS3. If you like the series, chances are you own a 360.

It's a broad appeal game that's easy to play, and brings futuristic science fiction and action first person shooters cohesively. (as if that's never been done before and better, ahem Half-Life).

I guess it's just because I'm an old school PC Gamer and had crap like in-game recording and demos, map editors, and all that other crap you're paying yearly for free back in 1996 when I bought Quake 3 arena.

Now that that's settled: What can Sony do to counter Halo?

By not releasing any bloody more shooters. I have my PS3 complimentary to my gaming PC to get an experience my PC cannot give me. Games that Team ICO makes or God of War not being on the 360 is more than enough reason for me not to care about owning one considering I have a library of hundreds of shooters already.

My point boils down to, Sony shouldn't have to care about Halo. So it sells like 8 million copies, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games sold 10 million copies, I guess that means it MUST be better than Halo right?

i know that the game market is being flooded with FPS, but i would say that i would like a 3rd person shooter mostly uncharted 2

i would say for now that i dont care about FPS besides K2/R2 unless they have something new to bring to the table.
