Honestly, I could care less if MGS 4 went to the 360. If it were to come then it would be release about a year from now and by then the MGS 4 hype would be no more. We PS3 owners already got our filled.

Whoa there, how was my statement fanboyish? Is The Last Remnant not coming to the PS3?

Squaresoft > SE.
Also, Spirits Within RULED!

If it ruled then SquareSoft would still be here.

Well, best things never sell. Psychonauts bombed. Clover is no more because Okami didn't sell. Sadly in our world, most people prefer Wii Fits and 50 Cents in games and Epic Movie and Meet The Spartans in the movies over real works of art.

very well said....and it rings with truth...

Square would be dead without Enix

All Square ever do is Final Fantasy which has gone downhill because they have lost key members of the FF staff and the whole thing is too long in the tooth now really and needs major change, Enix gave them Star Ocean, Dragon Quest, Valkyrie profile etc which has given verity, if you look at squaresofts releases over the years before the merger you will notice an increasing reliance on final fantasy to keep them going while they experiemented making mediocore and poor selling games in other genres.

In this day and age I don't think they could survive on Final fantasy anymore, Dragon Quest is the biggest selling RPG series in Japan now.

Actually they had pretty killer games in Xenogears, Parasite Eve, Vagrant Story, Brave Fencer Musashi, Threads of Fate, Einhander, Legend of Mana, Front Mission 3, and Chrono Cross back then. All but the last three were new franchises that they could have expanded (PE and BFM got sequels), hell Xenogears alone is 6 chapters (with XG being chapter 5) which WOULD have been made if there wasn't a falling out between Square and Tetsuya Takahashi (unconfirmed).

It's true that their reliance on whoring the FF franchise started hurting them, but they DID have an overall better catalogue back then than the do now. Which now, they STILL whore FF to death considering I have no idea how many times the first 4 games have been remade over the years, only now they're developing mediocre games to go along with it. The Enix owned games have always had awesome gameplay but subpar storylines for me and I don't see that trend changing sadly even with the merge.

Take it like this: Squaresoft was much better than Square-Enix will ever be.
The fact that Dragon Quest is the highest seller in Japan does not mean anything and
the diversity and quality is gone..unfortunately forever.

I also must say that Metacritic really really fails. 77 for Grandia 3? That was probably one of the
best games of the year.

Grandia 3 score is correct, although the gameplay is one of the best ever. The story was very very mediocre.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. BLASPHEMY. Everything was good about it,everything. Just your usual run-of-the-mill funny and
endearing characters with great graphics and same old same old story. FF stories are not much beter you know.

Damn, Metacritic's crap.

Couldn't agree more. All discussions aside, The Dark Knight is at 83 right now! WTF!? The best movie of the year so far and its average is 83! The only worthy movie with higher score is Wall-E and even that is at 93.
Still, it all comes down to personal preferance I know. F*** Metacritic and critics. Wall-E is PERFECTION. 10/10. And Dark Knight, it's not perfect. It's 100/10.

Truth.
The exact reason that I no longer like J-RPGs. Years ago both J and W RPGs looked interesting to me but after years, I see that they are the exact same games with minor gameplay changes. Sure, graphics look pretty but they are the same games.
The exact opposite is the W RPG. Always perfecting itself.

Diablo 2 did it for action RPG. Fallout did it for character developement and gameplay customization. Deus Ex is in a league of its own. KOTOR did a lot too. Now, we have Fallout 3, Fable 2 and Rise of the Argonauts coming. 3 western RPGs and 3 deeply different games. One can't wait 2 different JRPGs let alone 3.

Never gonna buy a square enix game again, not because FFXIII is exclusive but how hollow the company is. PS3 will have 0 exclusive games from squenix and xbox 360 will have 3 exclusives AND FFXIII. They say all the time how they want to bring there games to everyone and to support both Sony and Microsoft equally. There is no substance behind there words and no substance behind the company.

The 360 only have one exclusive actually, that is Infinite Undiscovery. Star Ocean and The Last Remnant will come to the PS3. The PS3 have Final Fantasy Versus as an exclusive. Fair deal.
Last ramnant is a timed exclusive, and Star ocean 4 is exclusive. when asked about the game's platform before it was announced, i read that they said it would not be multiplatform

Squaresoft's best game for it's time.

One of Enix's best games.  One I think that is up there and arguably better than Final Fantasy VII.
