Status: offline 		I believe there must be some other life out there. There is no way that our planet's ecosystem could house the ONLY lifeforms there ever have been and will be. My Science teacher last year and one of my classmates made reference to the fact that, if I remember correctly, Venus Flytraps only natively exist around an area where a meteor hit. That must prove something.

The thing about it is, if aliens live even at the far end of the galaxy, we've only had technology to send communications into space for like...50-60 years, right? Doesn't it take like...hundreds of years for signals to move lightyears like that? And even if aliens have received, or come across in any way, signals from us, who says they:
A. Care?
B. Can even understand it?
C. Even have the technology to receive the kind of signals we're sending?

Maybe we give the aliens credit for things they don't even have. Just because they're another form of intelligent life, it doesn't mean they followed the same scientific paths we've taken.

Status: offline 		i believe in aliens; i just never want to meet one ; i tend to believe in the "war of the worlds" type theory.  If there are aliens so sophisticated, so smart, so much better than us, why did they travel all this way?  Just to see us, and say hi?  It would probably be because they need something; in that case, we'll all probably die lol.

All these "UFO"s have ever done is float around in the sky, so why not tell the public? They pose no threat right now, they never have.

If our government knows Aliens exist, why is the space program on the frits of being cancelled? Why aren't we building weapons pointed towards space instead of pointed at ourselves just incase?

This guy is an old man looking for attention.

There's my damn rationality. I believe aliens exist... but not on, or anywhere NEAR Earth. The Universe is far too large to not believe there might be life out there.

Status: offline 		If the government knows anything about aliens (UFO is far too broad a term), what makes you people think that you could possibly have a clue about what's (supposedly) going on? Think how insignificant you are, in the grand scheme of things.

I think he believes there is life out there but not intelligent life? I dunno... but I definately don't think there is life elsewhere in our solar system... I think we would have found it by now.

Considering we spend more time on war than we do on useful things, like space travel for instance, it's understandable to think that, in the grand scheme of things, we don't have a clue.

I don't believe in these so called aliens per say but when thinking about it, are we really the only life form in this solar system yet alone the galaxy?

I'm one of them people who will need alot of proof before I can say that UFO's are real, they are up in space spying on us and what not. It will be many many years before we can travel to another galaxy and most of us will be dead by then.

Great questions B man.  The questions you pose are exactly why alien life is completely plausible.  No one has any idea (I say no one, but maybe that's not entirely true) what the visitors mission objective is.  You have no idea how long they live, what there health condition is / how it operates / what motivates them.   To them - 1,000 years may seem like an hour.  And you're right...we may be to them, like ants are to us...but if they need something critical from that ant, then of course the ant becomes much more important.  And why destroy something you need?  Of course this is all speculation, because to try to get inside "the mind" of creatures the habits and motives of which we know not -- is simply an excersise in futility.  To discount the notion altogether is dicounting the existence of arithmetic.

Worst way to back your statement up is to use the Bible. That's like referencing Stargate.

Aliens have to exist, 'cause like Star Trek has shown, there are many M-Class planets out there... That's stupid speak for "there are too many planets out there for ours to be the only one with life on it". If people would realise that the chances of Aliens being anything more than a bunch of mice, we'd be much happier. There is a significant chance that there is no such thing as the Covenant out there waiting to kill us.
