game: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
emotion: Anger
cause: It was all over before I knew it. Seriiously, I knew it was short, but I thought I had at least another 3 hours of gaming left.

I was also a little angered by the game's length, but that ending actually sort of got to me...

you were just upset that your fellow country men got slaughtered at the end. Thus, the reason why this game would have been 4 hours longer if it had Canadians, due to our indestructable nature.

Call of Duty 4 got to me.

*Spoiler* How all of them get picked off one by one and then finally the allied Russians come to save you. And in the end in that news report none of the events were even listed.

Yeah, I also found it quite sad how they mentioned the search for a sunken tanker, but never acknowledge why it sunk, or what your squad did there.

I also found the ending to the mission "Shock and Awe", which later leads into "Aftermath", to be a rather affecting moment.

i have to say, the ending to shock and awe did get my heart fluttery. It was hands down the single best "WTF is happening" moment in a FPS. Once it was over I was left a little shocked that *spolier*....the main character (your character) was killed off.

What got me, is that the game essentially gives you the finger and tells you that everyone's dead, with no exceptions. I liked that because most FPS'es wouldn't do that sort of thing, but at the same time I hated it for being a harsh reality.

Call of duty 4 and Grand theft auto 4 both affected me a little bit.  Call of duty 4 in the sense that your squad slowly gets picked a part and you are pretty much the lastman standing, i felt sad for losing those that had been with me most of the game, and grand theft auto in the sense that niko this guy who is looking to bury his demons by revenge, finally achieves everything he wanted to, and yet by the end of it, feels probably more empty and lonely than he ever had before.  That last scene when you beat the game and the credits come up as you look at the city, with the music in the background, i felt as empty and lonely as niko.

SOTC,it was pure sadness from the opening scene ( with awesome music) to the end(with dead colossus in credits).
MGS4,FFX,ICO and a few others did this too.

Madden 08.  The glitches and inconsistencies in the game literally made me punch a wall...... then my fist hurt afterwards.

FF7 Aeris scene

Yeah..but kinda the wrong emotion. It's more of a "WTF, I JUST SPENT 5 HOURS TRAINING HER!!" than sadness.

But end of MGS3. Now that was EMOTIONAL!

Hmmm... A few off the top of my head that ran me through a few emotions due to a great, engrossing storyline are FFX, MGS4, and Mass Effect.  Bioschock too.
