The original XBOX was reliable, but this one has terrible hardware. However, you never know with the next one.

Buying a 360 is like buying a time bomb. It will go off sooner or later.

i'll be waiting a while after the Jasper set comes out to see if these issues are remedied or not. but yeah, the 360 is the biggest wakeup call for MS so hopefully they learn from this for their next console.
if they drop support for the 360 like the Xbox 1 then i will never again buy a MS console. i was pissed when they canned software support for my Xbox.

Considering what Sony did after the PS2, which was make the much more reliable PS3, I can see Microsoft easily making a more reliable console next as well. I wouldn't cling onto your words to tightly.

This is an Xbox 360 board group & you guys are all cows. You know what? You can cry me a river about your broken 360s. It works fine for me!  There is a 3 year warranty & if that doesn't work, well poor you. I've been running my second 360 for over a year now & it hasn't had any problems. I got an RROD 6 months after purchase, but they replaced it & paid S&H too within 2 weeks.

I'll tell you what is a waste & that is a PS3. Every game available that is worth playing is already on the 360 or coming to it. Even your precious FFXIII. So who cares about paying more for something that offers less?  I guess you can watch crappy blu-ray movies but at least I'll have Netflix & downloadable viewing.  Perhaps in Thailand you can get a pirated Sorny PS3 & pirated games & it's so sad that you can't get 360 knock-offs to work there. I pity you. I take that back. No I don't.  I can tell you what I buy from Europe of 'european' quality: NOTHING!

And if you care to start some system wars style stuff, please feel free to come to my board & blast away. I challenge you.

ehhh... ok, i think they have 10 step programs for people like you

EDIT: anyway, some people aren't satisfied with their product, whether it be an xbox, wii or ps3. nothing wrong with them voicing their opinions. maybe he did get burned on a couple consoles, is he suppose to like it then and talk in favor of this?

"You know what? You can cry me a river about your broken 360s. It works fine for me!"

What an original statment.  I've never heard that before.

And you're right, there is no such thing as a broken 360.  To even mention it is akin to betraying one's own country.

That's Sony's track record. Look at Microsoft's: Pretty reliable Xbox --> Unreliable Xbox 360. MS has already stated that they want to be the first to release in next gen, and that makes me fear that they will overlook some hardware issues again >.< It's funny though, because they know when PS4 is coming out (10 year plan started in Nov '06...) and the next Nintendo will sell no matter what, so I really don't understand why they want to rush out again.

Well my 3rd Xbox 360 gave me an E74 screen just as I was about to play Bad Company, which is a great game by the way! The shop technician is not 100% sure of a permanent fix, and that being the case, I'm stuck with another useless machine. I am aware of 3 year warranty but Microsift do not officially sell in Thailand where I Iive, we get grey imports from Hong Kong, which means no warranty for us.

So, in a calm manner as not to initiate a flame war, I am through with this current MS machine. No more 360's. Even my wife is pissed off about this and she is usually very calm.

You know I read N4G almost everyday and recently there was an open letter to Japan about why do they hate the 360. Well the answer is obvious and simple, it just doesn't inspire confidence, does it? I have spent a lot of money in less than 2 years on a defective product which the manufacturer denies is defective.

I will never buy MS machines again.

    Peace.

see this is how I know your lieing, if you've have 3 Xboxes brick on you I am pretty sure you would know that an E74 just means a cable is loose, it doesn't mean the system is broken at all, I get the E74 once and awhile, I just turn the system off and make sure all of the cable are in all the way, and like magic it works again.

    Untrue.

E74 - my GPU burned out. repairs.

    E74 - my cousins software stopped working...lol...repairs.

    E74 stand for a whole lot...bricked, power supple....repairs.

Not having your Xbox break in at least one of the matters, leads me to believe that you dont have an xbox

Odion, it would appear you have a cable loose. Plus learn some basic English grammar. At the same time learn some basic manners too.

I feel sorry for people like you, those who only know cynicism and fear. Those who close their minds instead of opening them.

I guess you don't read System Wars too much on System Wars-related boards. However, running into a forum & complaining about the system is just an attack buy the cows. They do this all the time! It's a Trojan horse. It may first appear that it's just a general complaint but then all the cows stampede in to moo & graze on the issue, to re-affirm that they didn't buy the lemon of this generation of consoles, which is actually the PS3, despite common cow-"wisdom"..if you can call it that.  They don't even own a 360...it's just talk.

I think the guy that posted about the Thailand Xbox had his thread locked or deleted from Gamespot right after he posted it. As I remember reading that post there. Just cross-posting his complaint to anyone who will listen...it's negative, annoying, & causes a stampede.

Alright villainous fellow, take your bias attitude and check it at the door, this is not how N4G rolls. I don't care where else you post like this but not here. You language is unnecessary and quite derogatory and it ends here and now. I don't think if you have much to add, you should not be making posts to start flame wars.

P.S.; Your analogies are poorly constructed.

    **UPDATE**

The 360 is fixed! I haven't picked it up yet, and I needed the wife to translate what the tech guy was saying (technical Thai is an alien language!!). Basically, it will go again. If it happens within one month, he'll fix it for free again. Otherwise, I pay 600 baht, around $20US, and it works.

Check out www.nadzproject.com for the shop that sold and fixed the 360.

PS. There are some very strange, even angry people here!

To the best of my knowledge, there are no pirated games for the PS3, certainly not in Thailand anyway. The 360 can be stealth chipped, but not the PS3! That doesn't mean that everyone chooses this option.

The guy from Gamespot Thailand Xbox isn't me! Why don't you try the other 59,999,999 people who live here?

    Thanks Tempist.

    Peace.
