The reformed Team Ninja - headed up by the guy responsible for Sigma - were last announced to working on new IP, to break away from the Itagaki era. So no new Ninja Gaiden period.

Microsoft published Ninja Gaiden 2.  With a few additions or subtractions, I bet a Sigma version could be done while also not causing any legal trouble.

That being said, I doubt it and the rep probably doesn't know the difference between trophies and achievements.

so by that logic we'll be seeing LBP on the 360 eh?

SCEE owns LBP's IP(watch some trailers,at the end it says LittleBigPlanet is a trademark of SCEE,all right reserved),but MS is just the publisher of NG2.MS published Vampire rain but now it is coming to PS3.See?NG2 on PS3 is possible.

God of war wins in story but no action game can ever surpass NG2 combat system...Its just not possible

5 Bloodmask stars for you Sonarus. You are on to something. Ninja Gaiden has never been about story. However the combat system is as deep as most traditional fighting games.

Being a big fan of fighting games in general is why I really like the series.

Exactly.  But again, I doubt it'll happen cause I'm more willing to bet the rep doesn't know that trophies were specific to the PS3.

Team Ninja without Itagaki is like Kojima Pro without Kojima.

an unknown development studio with less than 10 employees sells their IP to a huge gaming company so it can help fund them and hire more staff to make a game they envisioned.
yes, very moronic, indeed.

Rag doll kung fu was their first IP actually. The team is actually made up of 25 ppl. Even the games creative director is a programmer for the game which i think is really cool

Don't know if sony owns the IP but i know they are publishing and its exclusive to PS3. If someone goes off and buys them that could change.

ahh. much like, oh yeah, Bungie. you're right

for a small start up company this is the best route to go. they've already become a recognized studio even before the product is released so that gives them a lead for the future.
i'm pretty sure Sony will acquire them if LBP becomes a hit.

EDIT: back on topic, i don't know if Tecmo will ever bring out NG2. maybe after the publishing rights are over or whatever but it won't be any time soon. not that i'm hyped for the game anyhow. NG is great action but it lacks in the dept. that means most to me and that's storyline and character development.

I am pretty sure MM doesn't want to be acquired, they left Lionhead like 2 years ago to make their own independent company, and you think they already want to be sucked back into another mega corp

yeah, i agree, they might not, but who knows, maybe sony treats them better. not saying they do.
who knows, business is business and for a small start up, having a good relationship with a big corp brand is the smart thing to do, not saying becoming 1st party but i'm sure Sony will at least offer it to them if LBP becomes a hit, but then again they can't rely on LBP anymore since they've sold the rights. but i do agree with you that selling their IP might not be the best thing to do in the long run if it becomes sucessful, but all new IP's start off on a 50/50 scenerio. it's a hit or a flop and a company given the opportunity for financial funding might look to it as getting their IP to be a success and in doing so it will elevate their status as a reputable developer and so in the long run their future ideas will have an easier starting ground both for publishers and gamers.

anyway, NG2 won't be on the PS3 any time soon. Who knows what the hell is going to happen with Tecmo now.

You can't really judge that from them just leaving lion head studios

They are a game studio and they may be looking for some security. Sony trying to acquire them could give them that. So far as far as we can tell they are happy with sony plus sony has their claim to fame ip so it would be a tough choice letting it go. But naughty dog let go of crash bandicoot so you never know

Basically, money talks so no one can really know what will happen in game world.  Especially right now when devs appear to be taking bribes for exclusives and timed exclusives.

Makes me think of a South African.

Anyway, I think that Media Molecule would be financially safe with Sony, and would also have the liberty to make fresh IP's, so I am sure they'd be prepared to let Sony acquire them.

Other risky titles prove Sony isn't the kind of company that confines it's first party to metal clad Sci-Fi shooters, all the superb titles that come from it prove that.

i do think Sony are very lenient with their studios. have any of their studios jumped ship yet? it's not certain that MM will be acquired but i'm sure Sony will give them an offer after LBP. what does MM have to lose? they've already sold the IP. the only thing they can gain is a big budget for their future ideas. but i guess it comes down to the relationship between the two.

anyway, this is going way off topic

Didn't they leave Lionhead because of MS actually? Just asking.
