ORIGINAL: LJWooly You can't use the bill & Melinda Gate's foundations's charity endeavours to argue a case for Microsoft, because Microsoft simply has nothing to do with that. Bill Gates, but not Microsoft. I also don't think it's entirely unreasonable to have expected one of the richest men in the world to give a substantial amount to charity, anyway. I'm not saying they're one and the same. My point was people talk about these evil corporations like they're out to get us, but at some point down the line, they're all run by real people. Bill Gates is retired, but for a lot of years he was the guy behind "evil" MS. He's really not such a bad guy. He's just another business man. It's not like he puts on his evil hat when he goes into work and spends the day trying to f*ck people over any way he can. I kind of addressed that in my original post. quote:
i hate how some avid MS fanatics somehow try to relate Bill Gates' generosity to reflect that of Microsoft Corp. i admire Bill Gates, i really do, and i wish him the best. now that he's gone from MS, i don't mind seeing it crumble :P Whoever's running it now might be a pefectly nice guy as well. I don't want to sound like some MS flag waving fanboy. I don't run Windows, don't have an xbox, in fact I don't think I own a single one of their products. I just don't get all the hate. It's based on a lawsuit most of us really don't know that much about. We talk one moment about these faceless coprorations that don't care about us, then we turn around and project evil onto them. Which one is it?
