I am quickly losing respect for these guys, as I am lead to believe that they are no longer about quality, but now they are in it for only the money.  I know some of you buttholes here will say that is normal and is what the industry is all about,  but you are wrong and you are stupid for thinking you were right.

The gaming industry started out for people who enjoy games and such, not for a money profit thing, so when a respectable company gets new ownership, or all of a sudden starts thinking and working for the money, they lose their sense of quality and start pushing out whatever they can to get money, just like all those movie games that are pushed to be released along with the movie, they are never really that good, except for a select few, but they are there just to pick up money.

So, when I say Square Enix is going down the drain, I mean that they are going down this road.  First with Final Fantasy 12,  I liked the game, but I didn't love it like the rest of them.  Basically, I played it just to finish it, then I was bored with my transition from ps2 to ps3 and went through and beat Yaziamat, which IMO is probably the best part about the game, all the hunts, which is sad, when it should be about the story or the battles.

Next, the sellout to Microsoft, I'm not really all that butthurt over it, but it's an obvious money move.  Then all the ps1 remakes on PSP/DS.  And finally, the remake of Final Fantasy 7.  Now I know a lot of you guys out there are creamin your pants over this, but honestly, going back and remaking old games keeps them from working on new games that can be better.  It's either gonna be overhyped into getting perfect 10 ratings, or it will be dissapointing, either way, it's just easy money for Square Enix because no matter what, all of those FF7 fans will buy it.

I just don't think that the Squaresoft/Enix merge did them too much good, it seems like ever since then, it's been a lot of greed and such, and I believe it started with the sequel to FFX, which was not that great, but was the start of their exploiting their "Great" games for money.

Completly disagree.  Square Enix is still about quality and the want to better their games.  The World Ends with You is one new IP they came out with recently and it is an amazing game with a very slick look to it.  Rings of Fate was a good rpg with fun platformer gameplay, Last Remnant seems to be shaping up nicely and is also a new IP for their expanding roster.

The full remake of FFIV is one of the finer things they have done in a long time with making it not only play better with more features but also added a nice dose of extra difficulty.  Crisis Core still shows they are about pushing visuals and story driven games while always looking for new gameplay.  We haven't even seen a lot from Star Ocean 4 or Dragon Quest IX both of which should prove to be enjoyable games.

They have a lot of projects at hand and when they do get released it'll have that polish most Square Enix games are about.  Everyone is in it for the money but Square Enix is still about the game and it's unfortunate you can't see that   For how much time and money they are putting into FFXIII you can't really say they are only for the money they like to see what they can do as well

As much as I hate losing an exclusive, I'm not that upset about the 360 move.  I still get to play the game, and to me that's all that really matters.

^^^ everything is about $ from the get-go.

it does seem they're just throwing out games left and right and doing remakes but they're still good games.
not great, IMO, since the best FF games were 7-9 (yes, i know, i still haven't played 5 or 6 yet)
playing the remakes of FFIII and IV are great. (yes i know, it was outsourced)
their team is huge now so it depends on what game they're working on. we'll find out with XIII & Versus since their best teams are working on those.

I was thinking just the opposite when I read everything that they just announced at their event yesterday.  They definitely got me excited for a lot of games.  Just about every game they announced has me screaming like a school girl. I think out of all of them though, Parasite Eve 3 is the best news I've heard in a long time. I've been waiting for a PE sequel for a LONG time and that mobile sh!t wasn't cutting it.

I'm glad now that Square finally realized that they could make games for the PSP and have them actually sell.  Square has made me a very happy gamer over their years and while they have had a rough start then gen their still probaly my favorite developer.  I cannot wait to see what they have for today

SE's support of the Xbox 360 will make them a stronger company and its financial future will be more secure because of it, allowing them to continue to make great titles

Square-Enix is putting the money they got from Microsoft to good use. Parasite Eve for PSP, Agito for PSP, and FF XIII demo exclusively for PS3 bundle with FF VII: ACC.

:/ Square enix is a company, they sell products for money. The quality has always been top notch. They only have 1 group of people to whom they must be loyal to and that is their investors. Im all for them releasing everything on the xbox 360 :) gives them more people to enjoy their great games and also more money. Kudos Square continue with the great games.

FF 1-8 were the good ones :).

FF13 has potential but im more interested in what sakaguchi makes over at mystwalker.

I don't know why people hated FF XII, I personally loved it. The combat system was a major overhaul in the FF franchise, but it worked really really well. The story wasn't memorable, but the combat system more than made up for it.

i liked it, but it wasn't the best one i've played. the gambit system made it too easy, like auto pilot. the story was "ok". the character development wasn't too good. i know they're trying to do an updated combat system of XII on XIII so i wonder how that will turn out.

Versus will be cool being an action-RPG and being very emo looking, which i fancy. (i like the emo look, not the whiney kids who need to visit a 3rd world country to see what real suffering is) and i love the macabre. i'd love to see a macabre FF game one day.
