everyone does realize that the BBC is very liberal and is widely criticized for being so?  I don't care what side of the aisle your on, it's just funny to see someone criticize one thing, when they do the same

The overall media is liberal! <PERIOD> END OF DISCUSSION.

Now, the point of the matter is that I think things are going to get worse instead of better in this conflict/war.  Something tells me that there is going to be some sort of domino effect that will take place if this war lasts for more than a week.  I've been trying to deny it but I think I'm going to see WW3 in my life time.

i agree; i was just stating how one can accuse one and side with the other, when it is the same.  And I also agree on the other hand; the theory of realism and Edmund Burke's writings on Conservatism pretty much state that little changes over the course of history.  Changes are made slowly and evolve over time.  That is why history tends to repeat itself some way, some how, some shape or form.  Europe cannot change itself over 50 years; there are thousands of years of history, and sooner or later things will be set back.  It won't be exactly the same since some things do change, but the climate is hazy up ahead.

would have used Fox but I didn't want to be scolded by the ever so liberal people of the internet. I don't even like to mentition to some of my friends that I watch and like Fox News because if they found out I was conservative they would abandon me.

Pffft...most of my friends are your stereotypical liberal Californians.  They however know that I politically stand  opposite of their beliefs, but we have an agreement to respect our political opinions, regardless whether we agree with each other or not.  Still, I gave a few warning to some of the people that I know off that when it comes to our men and women in uniform, that I will take it as personal offense if they ever mock our uniformed servicemembers (i.e., baby killers, mindless GOP droids, mercenaries, etc) and that I have no reason to stop myself from punching someone else.

Actually, I will stop myself from punching some dip **** moron, but there is no guarantee that I will.

Yes, I knew that you were meaning to be sarcastic. Don't mind me.

I'm going to bed for tonight.  It's much too late for me to be making political statements on a forum.  Hopefully when I wake up in the morning there will be a cease fire or something positive but I'll doubt that until I see it.

We fought WWII on two different fronts and won I really doubt we would have much trouble putting up a fight now even with some of our forces in Iraq. My point was that we wouldn't need to leave Iraq entirely to put up a fight.

Understanding reached. However, (please don't take this as me trying to heatedly argue with you) I still personally believe that going to war in a new front may be a little complicated than what you might have imagined, though I wholeheartedly agree with you that our country can adapt to a sudden situation.

Cheers!

I think Bush getting involved in the situation is a dangerous escalation

What we see occuring in regards to foreign policy is nothing but a natural recorrection to what has been an unnatural situation in the Caucasus, an area which has been under Russia's sphere of influence for centuries, the diplomatic games and meddling that the US was doing in that region was never going to last, and Russia is going to use this incident to push western influence back out of what is their backyard. This is why I dont see the Americans or Europeans doing anything beyond tough talk, and that they will have no choice but to keep it that way as both military and economic actions are completely out of the question and where Russia holds all the cards right now

Ooo man :) I can already picture the A10 Warthogs destroying columns of T90 tanks. The sweet sweet sound of that 30mm gatling gun literally raining down death and destruction. What a beatiful sight that would be. I doubt the US military will get involved though this conflict will end soon Russia wont risk going to war with the US.

What you fail to mention in your statement Zhuk is,  that the U.S.'s "meddling" as you call it, was a response in aid to a country that demanded & its people, died for freedom from oppression and strife from a Communist regime, as did so many others of the former so-called "Soviet Union".  This is not a natural "recorrection" of any sort.  That's like saying that the United States bombing Havana this morning is a natural recorrection to Russia's meddling in the U.S.'s sphere of influence.

This is a SUPERPOWER using ovewhelming force in a lopsided battle.  The EU and U.S. condemn this action.

As treacherous and just plain wrong as it is for me to think of the United States entering this conflict which would usher in World War 3, your statement and indeed this entire current event, cannot make me stop thinking of the well written "alter-dimensions" of the Ace Combat world where conflicts are abound between the Eruseans, Useans, Yuketobanians & of course Osea.  If only "real" wars could be settled so easily.....

The international airport huh.

Wonder what nato will do about this. Georgia was trying to join nato and that might have been why Russia started its agressions.
