Dark Side of the Moon is insanely awesome. Time is one of the greatest songs ever.

Personal favorites include any of the Nirvana albums, especially Bleach and In Utero. No other band can stand up to the consistent originality and greatness of Nirvana in my own opinion.

Oh yeah and Slipknot's Vol. 3 : The Subliminal Versus and System of a Down's Toxicity.

I'm with Kareem on this one Ride The Lightning was pretty good too though.

Black Album is what killed Metallica for me. But it's not that bad of an album, Sandman is still a catchy tune.

I don't really know what the greatest album of all time is, but I can say what my favorite albums from all time are.

The top albums that I would take if I could only listen to so many for the rest of my life would be

2001 - Dr. Dre
Sublime - Sublime
Songs fro the Deaf - Queens of the Stone Age
Toxicity - System of a Down
The Blue Album - Weezer
Pinkerton - Weezer
Californication - Red Hot Chili Peppers
By the Way - Red Hot Chili Peppers

Kind of a long list, but it's hard to discern them for me.

From the Ride The Lightning, I only like Fade to Black so far as I haven't really listen to the whole album.

Regarding the albums in their latter careers, I would say starting from Load and onwards, I wouldn't mention as they pretty much turned mainstream. On the otherhand though, I really hope their Death Magnetic turns out great.
