The basics...

Laptop ;;
1.5Ghz Dual Core
2Gb RAM
160Gb HDD

Desktop ;;
3.2Ghz Dual Core
4Gb RAM
4Tb HDD

Understand that they're both very old, around the two year mark, and I rarely bother upgrading. I'm on the lookout for a new laptop, admittedly, but the one I have seems to be pretty good at the moment. It doesn't hiccup, and it seems to be on par with most average laptops. The Desktop seems to need some work, however, if your PCs are that much better than it. Although I do have a lot more HDD space than most of you, and I probably still have less free space!

Don't be so apologetic. Those are good specs. I'm rocking a Pentium 4!

Ha, even with all that there's still not much else ya can do!

Zone, I hates your computer, but at least I can have two GTX 260s, and you can't! As well, your OS doesn't give you full powerz over your box.

If you need some tweaking help, lemme know, and I'll make Vista more tollerable.

Edit: decided to not order the Crysis PC, looking at something more expensive since I can pay it off:

PC under construction: likely to be a Phenom X4 9950 Black Edition, HD 4870X2 (CF support), 4GB DDR2-800, Vista 64-bit set up.

My own stuff (purchased separately from the system):
G9 mouse/G15 keyboard, Cyber Snipa Tracer Gaming Mouse Pad
300 GB Maxtor External HDD (thanks to a buddy, gave me this for free)
Samsung 2253BW 22" LCD - 2 ms, 1000:1 Contrast ratio, 1680x1050
Logitech X-540 Surround Sound System

Well yeah, I ordered that Crysis Warhead PC as it's a steal (well, not really, but $700 for an optimized system is good in my book, even if PC prices have dropped a lot).

Core 2 Duo E7300 2.66GHz
2GB DDR2
250GB SATA II HDD
EVGA GeForce 9800 GT 512 GDDR3 (SLI ready, 1 free PCIe slot available)
G31M3-F MoBo
XP Pro SP3

G9 mouse
300GB Maxtor External HDD
Stereo Speakers, 17 inch CRT flat screen(1280x1024) <-- will upgrade these later. For now it's fine.

Does that mobo support SLI?

Edit: It looks like your mobo that was in that Crysis machine only has one PCIex16 1.0 Slot? In order to run SLi, you need a board that supports it (w/ Nvidia Chipsets) as well as two PCIe x16 slots (Version 2.0 preferable).

Vista isn't too bad - just too resource hungry. With the extra resources, it should be fine. I'll be able to play Crysis (and games on par with it) on the maximum settings with no slowdown, I believe. Am I right?
