Well the main reason i'm going for the Acer is because its on the cheaper side and is now a 5 times customer choice awards winner on Newegg.  It has 1844 customer reviews with a 5 egg rating.

It's a great monitor. I'm just saying with a video card like a 260 you may want zero ghosting and deeper blacks/whites. Although if you don't want to throw in the extra 60 or so then it's fine.

Just stay away from LG, they have a lot of dead pixels.

How about this Monitor:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236028

That monitor is good stuff.

Yeah I think I am going to go with that. Ill edit my post in a little bit to reflect that.

PS NewEgg OWNS!!

Man, you are paying way too much for all the shipping. The most I had to pay for shipping was $10 to get my 260 shipped via air.

Where you have your upper harddrive will have to be moved. That 260 is 10.5 inches long and is going to probably end up butting right against the hard drive.

You best also be upgrading to vista else the 260 is going to overheat the case and cause problems with your over clocking.

I think your choice of DDR-800 ram is a poor one as you can get DDR-1066 for the same price. I also hope you have double checked RAM compatability with the motherboard or you could end up facing a lot of problems overclocking it.

Too bad you're not using an Nvida chipset on the mobo, else OCing it would be 100% fire and forget.

BTW: how much is this rig costing in the end?

Shipping has been 3 day no matter the part i've bought and from any location so i'm not complaining about the price.

2 GB G.Skill DDR3 1066 costs $164.99($74.99 for worst ram) same price really?

I'm buying 4 GB of gaming ram with heat dispensing technology.

My Motherboard is DDR2 800 standard and my EVGA GTX 260 comes with OCing software.

A little over $1000 that includes shipping and the monitor.

That's a lot like saying you're buying a car and it's coming with tires. IMHO you could probably find better ram at a better price.

You may want to wait for the next round of 260s to come out as they have more unlocked than the current versions do and will have the same cost to them.

Any OC software that the card ships with is not as useful as what Nvidia provides via the Nvidia control panel.

One thing I ALWAYS recommend when someone is buying a new gaming PC is always try to get the most even if you might go a little bit over your budget but that is not to say go crazy and buy the ultra premium stuff, for example you were going to buy X processor or MOBO and for a "small" amount of more money you can get a more substantial upgraded version even if you are going over your budge...go for it and believe me you wont regret it...the same goes for waiting, if you know or there are rumors of price drops or better parts in the close future you WAIT...also look ahead of stuff buy parts that will allow you to easily upgrade in the future instead of having to almost replace the entire stuff with new ones (this mainly applies for the mobo, a powerful +600wt power source is a must and now a days getting 4GB of RAM will get you peace of mind specially if you are using Vista cuz Vista with enough RAM is a charm)

And finally if you are a real n00b on OCing parts and you might have worries about doing it right remember that at least for Video Cards manufactures like EVGA sell Super OC cards for (most of the time) a very small extra fee

What computer isn't out of date it is a nice step up from a 6 yo Compaq with a Radeon 9800.  I'm not rich and i'm on the edge of my budget as it is so please go a little easier on the comments.  I'm not going to wait for the next better thing or I would never own a graphics card, cpu or motherboard.

I had no idea an out of date computer could play Crysis on high to very high settings with filters on.

The E8500 and E8600 are no different then the E8400 other then a slightly increase frequency(E8600 3.33 Ghz) while I can overclock the E8400 on air to 4+ Ghz.  I saw someone use a 1000 Watt PSU for 3 GTX 260s and a Quad Core why can't I use a 585 Watt for 1 GTX 260 and a Core 2 Duo?  I went to Newegg for the price, reliability, fast shipping and the customer reviews and with them i've put this computer together.

Ford you should have been smart about this, you should have waited till Christmas time when newegg and tigerdirect have sales, and then built your computer.

His computer is fine.

Ford, your PC is fine, don't listen to the garbage in here. If you encounter OC problems, just keep it at stock then -- it's not even necessary to OC that rig. If you encounter any problems with your power supply or whatever just make sure you have a return policy on all your items (and you likely have at least a 30 day guarantee with each).

His computer is fine. You don't need a Core 2 Extreme and an HD4870X2 to play PC games.

Nope I wasn't planning on overclocking for a while actually so i'll have plenty of time to buy another power supply if I need one.  All of Newegg products have a 30 day return policy so i'm not worried about it.

I didn't feel like waiting call me stupid or ignorant but I just didn't maybe I can use the christmas sales to buy the extras for my computer like a bluray drive and so on.

Your computer is good enough to play anything you want at considerably high settings and you're paying a great price on it. That's really all that matters.

Judging by the VERY slow progression in terms of system requirements this gens has been for PC games (except for "THAT" game :P) that PC will probably last for a GOOD while

Hell look at my PC its around a year old and except for "THAT" game I have been able to play every single released PC game so far on the highest settings possible with fantastic fps

My new comp has a Quad core that runs faster, double the ram, and the third best GFX card and it cost me the same amount

Off the back of a truck in a parking lot he is lying.  A 'third best' graphics card would cost you atleast over $500 by itself and a 3 Ghz CPU would also cost you over $500.  I'm buying a brand new case, power supply, motherboard, ram, hard drive, heatsink & fan, cpu, gpu and monitor for $1000.

The problem is that I don't want to spend over $100 on a motherboard and I need a PCI Express 2.0 x16 for the graphics card and the Intel meets those specs.

However I could pick this one up but I know nothing about it:

DO NOT and i mean DO NOOT at all skip out on the motherboard, if you get a crappy borad it could possibly fry everythign else on your computer, like my motherboard killed my hard drive and i paid $99 for it (asrock 939dual-sata2) ive seen motherboards just melt and kill the processor

if anything, get an AMD processor instead, it will save you a lot more money
