Heh, not much into rap here. Just some of the 80's and very early 90s old school. I only find that era to have appeal to me.

aside from the 2pac song(later 90s) those are from the early 90s. thats some good stuf there though.

Yeah, but those particular groups aren't my cup of tea. Definitely more listenable than this crappy radio rap, though.

Hopefully you saw this coming.

Here's a bit of trivia.  This is one of the first music video to incorporate rap from 1981.  Take a listen.  I won't tell you who it is, you'll have to watch the video.

I'm pretty sure it's the sugarhill gang. I recall this track (Rapper's Delight). I can't even think of many known rap groups around that time!

ON THAT ONE...

Sugarhill Gang - Jump On It (Fresh Prince style)

You're right, Sugar Hill Gang put out their song "Rappers Delight" in 1979, but did they put out a video?  Plus, would you expect Blondie to have put out (if not the first) one of the first rap videos?

Perhaps Blondie liked their funk-rap style, wanted to make some new wave-funk fusion video.

Yoko Kanno/Origa - Moon

Honestly, it's not my favorite song of theirs either.  This one is:

WOO Good call. Marty Friedman did the vocal line of Call Me on lead guitar, it was very good. Can't find it anywhere. =(

Since we seem to be New Wave here...
