I dont want the 3rd Playstation to fail... the 1st iteration was great, the 2nd not bad... but they've really messed up this generation.

Status: offline 		Halo has 2007 secured, and probably most of 2008... but there are still other good IPs coming up that, while they wont get as much publicity or hype, SHOULD, because they'll be great.

Halo is is that brand new Cadillac Escalade with all the bells, whistles, and customizable options. It's going to last them a loooooooong time, and they know it. They're treating Halo with the same respect as they would a new care... extreme care and protection (and marketing... lol).

Status: offline 		Halo has what i call the Blizzard seal, it doesn't have to look cutting edge and it doesn't have to have the most mind bending gameplay features ever it needs to add things that add depth and fun without ruining the simplistic nature of the game.

Its like Starcraft 2, it doesn't look better then some of the mind blowing RTS coming out soon, and it doesn't change the game, its just adding fun and depth to an already great game.

Status: offline 		2. Halo 3 has to look a lot better at E3. As of now Haze, Huxley, COD4, Unreal3, and a host of other games look better then halo 3. This will wreck there system if Halo isn't super hot.
I can name a lot of Games that at least look better of Halo 3.
-Huxly, Unreal3, COD 4, Haze, BioShock(which I don't even like.),

Left 4 Dead will be the best FPS this year.

Status: offline 		Well if you have seen the latest screenshots from Bungie, Halo 3 looks alot better. Bungie works on the gameplay first and then graphics. For Halo 1, I think they said that 6 weeks before launching, they were still polishing up the graphics and sqaushing bugs. Plus the Halo 3 Beta we played was an old build, watch the Red VS Blue Halo 3 Beta trailer and you will see it looks much better than the beta build we played. The graphics will improve, I also think that only Halo can kill itself.

Status: offline 		Ok how many times do i have to say this Halo 3 only has to look great it doesn't have to look better then say oh i don't know all those games you named.

Lets see which one the public likes more, HEY for a second lets look at this argument from another game!

I like to first bring up the all powerful Warcraft brand, and then I'd like to give you fighter number 1!

WoW- Graphics were near outdated then but they still looked great and the art stlye gave it flair.
Number of sales so far including x pac? around 12 million.

EQ2- Once the king of MMO's it went with graphics and "state of the art gameplay" and do you know where it stands?
Around 250 k

Vangaurd- So good looking that no computer today can play it on max.
Numbers? Less then 200 k and it was called the next gen MMO!

Want more?

SC2 and C&C3 are more liked and sold better then the really great looking ones, Supreme Commander and the one from 2006

GTA was outclassed quickly by Getaway and numerous others graphically but none of them could put the same fun factor in.

Get the point?

yeah zone, you're exactly right on every point you make
1) halo 3 looks significantly improved over its previous iterations
2) i actually think it was about 2 months, but 6 weeks is good enough, lol
3) halo 3 beta was, well, a BETA build
4) a topic that i cannot stress enough "only Halo can kill itself"
- for those that dont understand what that means, it basically is saying that the Halo series has already been established, it's sold its millions, and written its place in history. No game in the past, present, or near future can live up to the hype, the anticipation and the excitement that is Halo. The only thing right now that can bring Halo down is its creators... Bungie and MGS. They may make a great game, but if it does not live up to par with its predecessors, if it does not sit well with the fans, you can expect a loss, despite the numbers. Which only reiterates the fact that Halo can kill itself
