But I haven't the faintest reason why. My articles have mostly been very popular indeed.
All the system say is that I have "not been reporting according to the N4G guidelines."
What sort of message is that?
It doesn't say what, if anything, I have done wrong. So how do I know how to get it right in future?

Is this the reaction of a rogue mod who doesn't like my opinion? (there seems to be a lot of this)
Or is there actually a real reason?

I'm looking into it for you. Hopefully everything will be straightened out by the end of the day.

The reason why is because you are posting your blog entries as news items.  Wrong section.  Post blog entries in the blog section and you shouldn't have any problems.

Bruce is an industry professional, his stories are legitimate.

OK, I'm done.  I don't understand this site at all.  Letting this guy promote his blog here and saying it's news just doesn't seem right to me.  If he posted ANYTHING else, I'd feel differently.  Good luck with the site.  Bye.

Looking at the stories posted from http://www.bruceongames.com/ they are all filed as articles and not as news. The site gudelines states that opinion pieces are ok as long as they are from well known sites/journalists or from people who work in the games industry. Bruce Everiss according to his profile is a industry professional so as far as I can see he is not breaking any site rules by posting stories from his blog.

I would be more worried about the idiots approving these types of stories then the ones submitting them.  I hope something is being done about the morons that approve this stuff to be on the front page when its clearly not front page news.  Alot of contributors / approvers definitely need this option taken away from them.  They are clearly abusing the system yet the only ones getting punished for it are the ones that submit the news when everyone evern the approvers are guilty.  This system is broken

I can actually agree with you on this one: only posting his blogs does seems a little self serving,

I will continue to use this site, but I will not check out any of the blogs.

I always thought that blogs were for the blog section, but there you go.

If an industry professional or journalist is also a contributor to the N4G.com community what's the problem with them submitting a news item they created?

It should be judged on its own merit as a news item, let the community be a spam filter. Sites like N4G is where alternate media get a chance to be recognized. I'd rather be challenged with an article by BruceonGames for instance, than tread through yet another GameSpot review. It's up to the community to find quality and approve it.

If I want to see what Viacomm, ABC and CNN think of Video Games I'll go visit there websites. I don't need N4G. The strength of this social media outlet is that it digs up morsels of information you might not find elsewhere.
