I was listening to another podcast recently and one of things that made it stand out to me was music in the backround while the crew was talking... Have you ever tested this? Maybe it would work well Maybe not.... obviosely it wasnt heavy metal in the back just some smooth tones and beats... sorta
IDK you guys have a great format and I agree 100% with arch ^^^

I also hear a podcast with soft music in the background, but at times it was hard to hear what they were saying. So i think the same issue will arise with you guys too but still worth a shot if you want to try something new.

I've said it before, and I know it's WAYYY too difficult and outside of the resources, but I'll just say it so it's out there.

If we know the times of the podcast, we can call in live by Skype.

Also, another idea, but just to think about. Ask a series of 5 video game related questions or something along the lines of some sort of trivia game or something where you can get listeners involved.

Maybe that's a little too much, but the key point is audience involvement.

Other then that, I like the format the way it is. Awesome stuff.

I know that you guys try to keep it around 2 hours but its ok I don’t mined make it longer!

I would love for you guys to talk about and give your thoughts of the hottest news articles of the week submitted to N4G.
Maybe only the ones that are 1,000 degrees or hotter.

It seems people want us to bring down some of the hottest items from the main page, so we will add that into the weekly repertoire. Each week we will grab the top three stories and discuss the news as well as some of the comments. Also we weren't eating LOL it was chewing gum and it has now been banned from the show

Here's a segment I thought of...

I was thinking that everyone online nowadays has a screen name\nickname\gamer tag etc. Usually this name carries a personal story behind it, sometimes it's just a take on their real name or sometimes there is a deeper meaning. Here's my suggestion for you guys:

Take some of the forum member names and make up fake stories to explain how they got their names.

Now I'm only throwing this together to provide an example, but take WombatRP for example. Perhaps that is the gamer tag for somebody who had their house broken in to by a wombat, the stereo and his prize stamp collection was stolen so he forever wanted to kill that pesky wombat, but he accidentally left the I out of WombatRIP.

Obviously that isn't true, but I'm sure if you guys put your minds together you can come up with funny stories for the other N4G members. Perhaps one or two names a week at the end of the podcasts.

Oh this just hit me, what about live podcasts? Like you tell people before hand that there will be a live podcast, then you can take live call in questions or live instant message questions. I really think this will keep listeners even more involved.

There should be a "What the F#%@ moment of the week" this segment would have every pannel member tell the listeners about a What the F@#% moment they had the week after the last show. And don't tell me you won't have anything because I see something at least once a week that makes me go WHAT THE F#$^!

How about cash give aways?

No, serious, being able to call in using Skype would be cool, although you'd only have a small audience of people to have call in. Maybe you could get a guest from N4G to be in part of the podcast. Interview them, ask them questions about games.

IMO the podcast is too long, although I guess it's weekly, so I could probably get through it all in a week. (I've only listened once so far.)

Ohh, I know! You could give a weekly challenge. Find some silly online flash game and see who could get the higest score, or you could issue the Halo 3 challenge of the week, or whatever other game you decide to make the challenge for that week. If enough people competed you could compair scores, although, again a small audience limits you ability for audience participation.

How about a clasic moment in gaming segment. You could find a awesomely bad voice over ala Zero Wing and play it. Or you could just talk about some moment in some game that was awesome. You might spoil things though, so maybe this isn't a good idea.

You could... not swear, so I don't have to worry about playing it loud in public spaces. ;)

You could expand your participants. Maybe get other N4G users who would be willing to come on and give a review of a game. You could cover more games that way, because it would be more than just the four of you. Kind of like the news, you have the anchors always on, and then various reporters you see only now and then. You'd have to make sure the person wasn't completely incompetent in speaking in a podcast, because that would be awkward and boring. "This game uhhhh... Is... ummmm... wait let me check something... uhhhh... i'm tring to remember what i was going to say.... mmmmmmm" you get the point.

Just spewing ideas, take them for what they're worth.
