Oh, sorry I wasn't able to fully explain myself (I was in my campus computer lab and it was closing time when I made that post). My case is that my local Gamespot employee told me that they were going "to call" me about the code. Later, when I upgraded my MGS4 pre-order to limited edition, I asked about the code. The guy (a different employee) told me that it was supposed to be e-mailed to me. I told him that the other guy told me that they were going to call me; the same guy who took my regular pre-order didn't even bother to get my e-mail. When I told the other guy that I wasn't told it would be an e-mail kind of thing, he took a quick step back and made a (veeeerrrrryyyy obvious) quick explanation. His explanation was that the first guy didn't exactly know what was going on, and made (with subtle nervousness) a quick reassurance to me that the code wasn't mailed yet. So he took my e-mail address and told me it would come "soon". Unfortunately, three weeks later, the e-mail containing the code never came...but you lucky bastards got it weeks earlier.

Sad thing is...I may never get the damn code. But like I said in my first post, I really don't care now about it.

So the lesson here boys and girls, is that Gamespot will try their best to get your pre-order money...only to just get your money and do a "quarter-assed" service to you consumers!

yea its basically because of gamestop i hate pre orders. But when i wanted cod4 it was sold out

only 2 copies they had were already pre ordered so i had to wait 2 more days to play

For me the code is within theDVD case. I was told that it would be emailed aswell and this and that, but in the end the DVD contains this icket with the code written on it. So I assume the same thing will be for you. Gastop will not contact you. I think that is a Lie. People have to keep calling them until they finally say they have them or you will not know if they have it or not.

So again I suggest keep calling until they finnaly receive them. It does f*cking suck some people are not getting them and that Gamestop is just beating around the bush on this. On the ticket it says A download will b available on the PS3 on April 17th. until May 5th. And the actual BETA will begin April 21st and end on May 5th. So you and others that have not yet gotten the DVD from gamestop with the ticket inside it still have until April 21st.

Thanks, ArchGelan (takes a really deep breath of relief). However, that only proves that Gamestop (or probably just the entire business itself) has some really uninformed people working for them (either intentionally or unintentionally ignorant). Seriously, every time I call their employees I get some slighty different story from each person. For people who are somewhat part of the multi-billion video game industry, their lack of up-to-date videogame news is simply inexcusable!

damn employees at my local eb games are idiots!!!!!!! they say the dvd will be released 2 weeks prior to the games release, but thats impossible since the beta starts this month. i swear if i miss out on this im taking back my resistance 2, GTA4, and MGS4 preorders and taking them somewhere else and never going back to that store again.

I was verry dissapointed yesterday

I wasnt keeping tabs on MGS4 and all the hubub about the MGO beta so when I heard they "beta was in" I figured I start playing it as soon as I got my disc.... WRONG!
Starts 4/14/08
Less than 2 weeks away and when that happens only days away from GTA4

PEOPLE PLEASE. Lets be Civil about this 'fiasco'.

First off, so long as we get the Beta Disks BEFORE April 17th, then all should be good. They're not useful until then anyways. Second, we always know that they're behind in shipments and a majority of their employees are not hardcore / care too much about all games. So in that we can't be furious gamers. Calm the hell down and be patient. We can't even play yet.

If this happened like a week before the beta play time, then we'd have reason to get angry. EB / Gamestop sucks with informing employees. Don't like it, don't shop there.

I really don't have any idea but i think it is only limited to US and JP. If you have a JP psn account there is a way to get into the beta though.

No. It's definitely in Canada too.

My EB Games has told me "whenever" they get it, they'll call me, as I'm already down for the LE preorder.

I really just want the Saga Vol. 2 and bonus DVD case, for collector's reasons. The Beta is an excellent addition, though.

yeah, i want the DVD for collectors purposes too. heck, i bought Essentials mostly as a collection piece but i'll be playing it whenever i take a break from Crisis Core. The DVD case loooks too sweet.
i've been calling my store daily. hopefully today is the day.

Just wanted to tell yall that I finally went to Gamestop and got the Beta DVD, I bought the Essential Collection just for the hell of it. (Have them all though, but not Substance =P)

I already have Integral, Substance and Subsistence, so I have no need for the Essential Collection.
