Ok I bought my ps3 8 months ago and have taken very good care of it. Its like my baby. But recently I want to break it into a million pieces. Playing call of duty 4 online one day the sound started to go out. It was like it went out in layers. Main sounds first then background and all that little by little. And when i went to leave the game I got nothing. It was like it was froze. Now if I leave the system of for a couple hours I get about an hour of gameplay before it does this agian. I have tried everything from fans to format. Called sony they want $150 to look at it because I dont have the receipt (lost it). Is there anything I can do I will Take all advice.

you know sometimes retailers make mistakes and drop consoles i have seen 1 ps3 drop and 2 360 drops just at the local walmart.

sometimes these consoles breaking could be cause of retail drops/mistakes.

Some stores keep duplicate receipts. I remember my laptop broke once and i had to get a receipt to fix it. I ended up getting a receipt from comp USA. My first HDTV broke on me once too and once again i needed a receipt and best buy took care of it.

if you bought it with a credit card you can get the payment transaction from there, or go to the store to see if they have the transactions in their computers still.
other than that, you're **** outta luck and need to pay for not keeping a receipt of an expensive purchase.

Yeah go get the receipt reprinted from the store of purchase if you think you can. I have no idea why you wouldn't keep something like that handy and around, that sir is quite careless on your part.

And if it's a serious problem you should be getting error messages. All and all go through the troubleshooting that Sony offers and hopefully that will help you out.

if you bought it with a card then its easier to get your money back or repair it. If you bought it with cash then I would advise you to find the reciept...what version is it btw the 40 or 60 or 80? and have you done the playstation 3 fan test thingi? that may cause the problem.

Same problem as me>Even though mine is worse. If you don't have the receipt,$150 is the standard fee.
