i see ur point masterblaster, but i meant the parts where they said i somehow suck. thats the difference.

but because of your guys help i think ill get demon souls and rent sigma 2. if its as hard as some of you guys say it is (like being unrewarding for the work u put in) then it might not be the game for me. i heard demon souls is hard also but very rewarding.
it was the coop that got me interested in sigma 2, but halo pointed out that its a better experience playing alone.
when i rent it later and i like it alot...then ill probably pick it up when it goes on sale later down the road.

thanks for the input guys. ill see u all in the comments sections.

no point putting u on ignore. i like to read what everyone says. im not big on censoring things to make me feel better about whats being said.

and @ masterblaster-
thats why i was asking if ninja gaiden 2 was good since sigmas pretty much a  port of that game with coop (i dont own a 360)

I would recommend downloading the Sigma 2 demo when it hits PSN and draw your own conclusions from there. You be judge.

As far the addition of co-op missions are concerned, it's up to you whether you want to play them or not. The single player modes will still be there.

I don't think you could play NG2 and then say if Sigma is going to be the same or not. Taking away some of the gore and I bet some of the difficulty also and then adding coop could make the game an entirely different experience.

I WAS saying get both because of how cheap NG2 is but if you are talking about a full price Sigma 2 then idk. You're probably better off waiting until they both come out and then asking what people think of the games.

sorry guys for the fanboyish sounding headline but i wanted to know if ninja gaiden 2 was really good or not.
i never owned a ninja game except for one of the old school shinobi games for
genesis.
This fall theres a bunch of games coming out and i have it planned to pick up ratchet and clank, uncharted, M.A.G., and either demon souls or ninja gaiden sigma 2.

i was leaning on sigma 2 but i heard this version isnt bloody like the 360 version.

so to ppl who played ninja gaiden 2...would it be a better choice instead of demon souls even though i never really played ninja style games.

-myspace

Pick up Ninja Gaiden Sigma Cheap. It's a fantastic game. It was my first PS3 game and I still play it from time to time if only the first level to see how high I can get my karma score. The game is insanely unforgiving. Sometimes you will feel cheated due to the camera getting hung up(This was a serious problem when NG2 released on the 360... Dunno if they did patches but supposed to be fixed for the PS3... Or better at least) Then you can make your chopice based on what you see. Demon soul looks cool but they are way different games bro. Demons souls is like oblivion or the witcher while NG is THE Hack and Slash game.

I have yet to play 2 but Sigma 2 is on top of my list above demon souls personally. To each his own though. Demon souls has cool elements but look VERY repetative and I'm not a fan of that. Also having a platinum from Sigma 2 would make you a serious bad a$$ =P

Anyway game on bro.

Edit: My 2 cents is it's much more then a port. it ups everything from more bosses to better graphics to co op to multiple characters. The only thing it lacks(and 360 fans will say this until their eyes bleed) is it lowers the gore factor. I personally can not see how this will effect gameplay at all but if you really want some heavy heavy gore then yeah... Granted the alternate characters gameplay may not be good(I have yet to see otherwise but once again 360 fans will harp on it) but it's still chalked up to additional content in my eyes worth playing.

Right... You suck, just as Bloodmask said. Ninja Gaiden is Ninja Gaiden, so since when did it EVER suck?

Noobs who have never played Ninja Gaiden suck. Agree/disagree?

nah, noobs are gamers who need aim-assist and brightly color coded enemies

i don't like NG games much though.
they're good, could be better if there was actually a planned out story.

i'll rent sigma or borrow off my friend.
unless the demo somehow changes my mind to buy it.

I was one of the first to notice the toned down gore when the game was first announced and i already complained about it in this thread
http://forums.n4g.com/tm.aspx?m=583666
Official quote was: "Violence is not going to be one of the key selling points of this title... It's not all about how bloody it is." Instead they're going for "a much cooler, cleaner, sleeker look". So you won't see great big spurts of blood, but clouds of purple essence when enemies get dismembered.

I believe the developers feel less gore makes it more appealing for one reason or the other.

As for which one looks better common sense tells you 1 extra yr of development plus the glorious power of the trey makes PS3 version look better automatically. But serioulsy they looked the same to me personally i would say PS3 version looked sharper but that is probably just fanboyism leading me in that direction. It wasn't a side by side comparison and it wasn't even a comparison done in the same spot so lighting conditions are different

Regardless though, extra features and characters and coop makes Niinja Gaiden Sigma 2 >>>> Ninja Gaiden 2
With or without gore

Dude really? Here are some links for you.

Or even this.

http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-09-ninja-gaiden/50071

Now think about it while you watch the Vid. that ENTIRE PART was not in the 360 version. sure limbs disolve into thin air. but these are Demons(As far as i know)  So who cares. Look bro to me I don't care about gore but it looks just as good , If not better, then the 360 version. Team ninja have said it will look better. The screens prove it. There are, unfortunately, no comparison vids I could find. Also the game is STILL IN PRODUCTION. So who knows. Either way it is the "definitive" edition.

http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/ninjagaidensigma2/news.html?sid=6206597&om_act=convert&om_clk=newsfeatures&tag=newsfeatures;title;3

look people will say a lot of things"Co-op is going to make it too easy = lame" Well you don't have to do it and as far as I know it's just specific online missions. It's a FREE option.

"Less gore = lame" well only if you really care. I prefer gameplay.

"It's a port. Those always suck" WRONG again. Watch the GDC vid.

people will tear it down no matter what because it's not on their console. I just want to play the game in it's most complete form and if I lose a few blood pools in the process so be it.

The 360 and PS3 have different hardware so some changes were made.  360 has more ram so they were able to do all those cool blood effects and leave countless body parts lying on the ground.  It was really cool when you were fighting those werewolves and they would pick up limbs and throw them at you.  We're looking at two totally different games now.  Neither one can be crowned the "definitive" version.  For the PS3 version, coop is limited to a "mission" mode and if the first Sigma is anything to go by, all the new characters will have a 4 hit combo and that will be about it.  Without the original creator of this game on board, I'm sorry, but this won't be the complete version of his original vision.  Instead, it will have some extra things tacked on for the sake of calling it a director's cut or whatever.

Ok I will go over each highlight. Are you saying the PS3 can't handle things as well as the 360? Have you seen the uncharted 2 stage demo at E3? Have you seen god of war 3? Have you seen MGS4? Have you seen KZ2?... Want me to go on? I think they took it out, as stated above by sonarus, other reasons. Not because it can't handle it.

I agree they are 2 different games now. I prefer the one with more offerings.

Except by team ninja which they did if you follow my link to the GDC video. Itagaki is not the end all be all of gaming.

As for the 4 hit combos. Maybe but guess what ITS FREE ADDED STUFF. If it sucks oh well if it's great. hey there you go. if it's just decent. Still a bonus over the other version. This is no longer a topic as far as I am concerned. more Bosses, more enemies, More weapons, more levels, More characters = Definitive game. They said it and I am too.

Sigma was better then Black in nearly every way. this will do the same.

Look... Say what you want bro.

Itagaki was a tool. A tool who made a cool franchise. but a tool.

honestly I say wait until the game is close and we see comparison vids before claiming 360 as the winner in graphics. I may be blind if you say so but to me they are at least equal. hard to tell though for many reasons. I want to see the open daylight areas on the PS3 version in motion so I can compare better but yeah. To each his own.

I will go over each highlight.  Practically every single mulitplat game says hello.  Like I said, both systems excel in different areas.  If I spit on your hamburger, would it make it better?  It is free added stuff.  Black is better than Sigma.  Rachel was a complete waste of time and brought down the quality of the game.  No moves and her missions were like 2 minutes long.  They also toned-down the difficulty.  Puzzles became optional and you were given your best moves way to early in the game.

Ok This is NOT A PORT. IT IS A GROUND UP BUILD! You even said above they are "2 totally different games now". Now you are saying it's Multiplat to suit your argument...

Black vs Sigma is opinion.

I actually liked Rachel.

The game was hard as sin regardless. I played the heck out of black and sigma and really I noticed no difference in difficulty...

In all honesty I wanted to give the author my opinion and got called out. Now I am defending my opinion. I'm done. how the heck is anyone supposed to trust someones opinion when they have "Too Human" pasted all over themselves anyway...

Definitely a good game,  I'm wanting to get SIGMA 2 once it hits shelves, but I easily see it becoming a greatest hits game, so I'll probably just wait till then and keep myself preoccupied with an RPG.

The 360 and PS3 have different hardware so some changes were made.  360 has more ram so they were able to do all those cool blood effects and leave countless body parts lying on the ground.  It was really cool when you were fighting those werewolves and they would pick up limbs and throw them at you.  We're looking at two totally different games nowNeither one can be crowned the "definitive" version.  For the PS3 version, coop is limited to a "mission" mode and if the first Sigma is anything to go by, all the new characters will have a 4 hit combo and that will be about itWithout the original creator of this game on board, I'm sorry, but this won't be the complete version of his original vision.

I will go over each highlight.  Practically every single mulitplat game says hello.  Like I said, both systems excel in different areas.  If I spit on your hamburger, would it make it better?  It is free added stuff.  Black is better than SigmaRachel was a complete waste of time and brought down the quality of the game.

It's better than having a personal attack as your signature.  I bet Bloodmask smiles every time he sees it knowing that he was able to get under your skin so much that you had to do that.  It was nice talking to you.

Ninja Gaiden 2 is the best action game ever created.  I'm not sure what's going on with Sigma 2 though.  Not only have they cut out the blood, but when you decapitate someone, their fricken head disappears.  The game is still rated Mature so it makes me wonder about what's going on with the port.

1. the excess blood/gore was only a visual  trick to stere your eyes from the lack of detail the Xbox 2 version lacked cuz of the limited data space of DVD9 and the limited graphical power of the Xbox 2.

i personally thought the buckets of blood that flowed from the dead was stupid, and what footage shows heads disappearing??
2. its Not really a  port of a good game  but a Build from the ground up on PS3 more or less new game like dev said (whats his name) hence going to be the Definitive make others Massively jealous superior version of Ninja Gaiden 2

3. Beta tested by xbox kids so bound to play better on the PS3. case in point camera fix.

o but as for the topic Q. Not, unless you a Xbox fanboy then it has to suck now, cuz PS3 version is clearly the superior version and that just erks some.

thanks for being a complete douche and not contributing anything useful. i figured fanboys stayed away from forums here, but i was wrong.

on topic: @butterfinger- so i should rent sigma and buy demon souls?
...and 100 cool points for the ppl who actually contributed to my question.
