A father that dumb he's much better off.

Oh yeah I agree, Kid was much better off growing up knowing he shot his father by accident

Well if everyone would follow the rules, then innocent people wouldnt get shot, but you know, **** happens right? See accident above: thats the other problem I have. In engineering, we always plan for the worst (or worst case that is feasibly possible). This whole if everyone followed the rules jibe is not in my mentality, people dont follow rules. Its just the nature of human beings.

True, not all people follow the rules. I think gun safety should be taught to children instead of parents teaching children that guns are evil and to stay as far away from them as possible. I know when I was growing up if my parents told me not to do something, I usually did it anyway. With guns having such a huge impact on our society they might as well be embraced instead of shunned. Teach responsibility and less of these accidents will happen.

My daughter will know how to shoot and to respect and follow the four rules of firearms.

Now that I think of it, thats my biggest problem with guns. Its the oops factor. Look, we're humans, we're idiots, we over react sometimes, we do stupid things I get it. For me with guns there is almost no oops, there is not of give and take with guns, you accidentally shoot someone, there are serious dire consequences to that action, all at the squeeze of a finger.

That's why you ALWAYS obey 4 simple rules when handling a firearm. When you do just that, accidents do not happen. When you become complacent and careless that is when people get hurt.

The 4 rules in case you forgot them:

1. All guns are always loaded.
2. Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire.
3. Never point a gun at something you are not willing to destroy.
4. Know your target and what is behind it.

It's that simple.

i remember something happen almost like this in FL a couple months ago...guy used to scream at kids for playin in his yard(ever since he lived there) then one day a salesmen came to the door and got shot

Friends: Man shot dead after pulling into wrong driveway
Lilburn police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old man.

Police said they were called out to a man's home on Hillcrest Drive on Saturday night.

A group of friends said they were going to pick up a girl who lived in the area to go ice skating around 10 p.m. when their GPS system sent them to the wrong home.
