One of the best RPG endings in my opinion. I didn't feel too overpowered - I finished at around level 70 yet that final fight was still sort of difficult. I like that I can rewatch all the cutscenes in the casino so I can show my friends the story w/o replaying it, but I hate how much it costs. I'm sure I can make enough money to purchase all that stuff though.

Also, I've been going through the fight tourney thing and got through to S rank and finally lost a battle. Stupid Esther died early and I couldn't bring her back due to not being able to use items. But I'm going to train my Sapdragon up since its the only thing that has defense as solid as the two trees that I currently have - yet it has 4star attack speed so he could be fun

It's really annoying that you have to buy the cutscenes. Wish I could just watch some of them again. It was awesome, although the combination of taming a Dinoceros and farming Tokotoko unfortunately took away a fair bit of the challenge at the end. The rest of my team was determined by familiars that I liked the look of.

If I were starting out with the game again, I would backtrack slightly as soon as I gain the ability to tame familiars. That means going back to the first town to tame a Naja for Oliver, and also taming a Sore Boar and Bone Head for Swaine on the way there. Then moving forward, a Purrloiner for Oliver, and a Whambat for Esther. Hold on to Esther's default Drongo, give Thumbelemur to Swaine, keep Mite on Oliver until Naja and Purrloiner are strong.

Also, Wildwood looks like Nate Griffin

Re:Ni No Kuni Official Thread (KozmoOchez)

Chard

Oh man I've been trying to catch a base form Toko but they just don't seem to like me very much. I've probably killed about 20 or so. I don't even know if they're that good in battle but I still want one. A double planet gold Toko would be nice!

Toko has a 2% join percentage, tokotoko is 1.6%, tokotocold and the golden Docotoko are 1%, the lowest catch rates in the game. I believe the highest i've read is 18%, but I can't remember which familiar that is, so honestly they are all fairly uncommon
Re:Ni No Kuni Official Thread (TooTall19)

The golden tokotocold in Ivory tower gives you 10k guilders.

Re:Ni No Kuni Official Thread (Satanas)

KozmoOchez

There isn't a golden one (I gots the guide) but there is a golden Docotoko...I wonder what his xp rate is if you kill it.

The golden Tokos give you bonus gold rather than xp
Re:Ni No Kuni Official Thread (WildArmed)

 Gotta Catch 'Em All

[attachment=0]

Re:Ni No Kuni Official Thread (Chard)

Oh man I've been trying to catch a base form Toko but they just don't seem to like me very much. If anything it adds more challenge to the game made too easy by having an evolved Dino. Maybe if I can catch a gold Dino after the story I'll raise a Cata. As for Bone Briga vs Baron, I agree Baron looks cool, but the consensus seems to be that he is useless for the main game being such a late bloomer. Briga still looks cool and is useful to me right now. That being said, I probably could have gotten by with my Papa Sasquash and Hyperboar for Swaine, keeping a Baron on the backbench. Anyhoo I'll raise one after beating the story.

I don't think there is a golden Dino. I have never come across one. There is however a golden Shonky Honker, which is the only gold familiar I actually actively use, but due to stat randomization, it isn't necessarily better than a regular one (two Shonky Honkers raised side by side into HTs, the non-golden one had better stats for me by a bit)

There isn't a golden one (I gots the guide) but there is a golden Docotoko...I wonder what his xp rate is if you kill it.
Re:Ni No Kuni Official Thread (Satanas)

Chard

Yeah I know Cata has higher attack but I think he looks a bit silly, plus Demo is already overpowered as it is, so the difference is not really noticed. The FIRST one I defeated gave me the chance to tame it, except Esther had died in the process and I had no items to revive her. I was raging at this, but fortunately I was also given the chance to tame the very next Dinoceros I encountered, and I got it. Chose Demoliceros for final form since I think it looks better.
Puss in Boats has been my main man for Oliver but Mahanaja is starting to catch up with stats.

I ended up choosing a Bone Brigadier for Swaine, since I'm mainly concerned with the story, for which Brigadier is more useful than Baron (and still looks cool). I caught a second bone head to Baronise later. I love my papa sasquash, and also just raised a hyperboar.

Demo is good but Catastroceros is very definitely better as far as damage output. I have 1 demo/2 cata myself

The Brigadier ceases to be better upwards of level 80, which you will be able to reach if you Tokotoko/Tokotocold farm, though I agree you're more likely to do this post-game if you don't grind much. Also, I think the Baron looks way cooler
Re:Ni No Kuni Official Thread (KozmoOchez)

I've been catching everything that gives me the option just in case.
