nice milo, like the clean setup. @ kevers; good on you for planning in your surround setup before hand. You can can check out the home theatre thread for some good ideas for speakers and amps. Now I don have my opinions on the whole HTIB set up. But I would go for a receiver setup rather than a bluray powered setup. I remember getting my first taste of 5.1 from a costo setup, and it just became an addiction. The one things I would look for would be a decent powered amp, and a powered sub, speakers can come in time. This is where I game, mostly. Sorry about the image quality, I don't actually have a camera, only use the phone. Pretty sure the tv is 42, LED, it has 3d but I never use it. I like it, it's subtle, which I like.

Content of drawers, obviously I've owned more games than that, I only keep those I currently play or plan on playing.

I also play on my laptop, which is fairly competent for a two year old laptop, specs: Intel Core i5 @ 2.53 Ghz, 8 GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce 460M. I use Windows 8 since a couple of weeks back, works ok. Plays most games on decent settings, with obvious exceptions such as Witcher 2, Crysis etc. I Overclock it slightly for a couple of extra fps. Will probably buy a desktop at the end of the year along with ps4 and nextbox.

alright, Rane is confirmed TMAN, so a ban will be incoming shortly,. on topic, you dang computer nerds sitting at your computers all day... woooo kevers, awesome set up man, nice color choice, big and bold. I was wondering if you were going to go with an inset tv mount (totally flush with the wall), but I think your idea was better because of the leway for a different tv when the time comes. nice work man. Did you plan for a surround sound setup, with wires in wall? or maybe do a wireless when the technology hits?

Thanks, Bear. Yeah the mount I went with has a 12 degree tilt which I keep tilted all the time due to the height of where it's mounted. More more comfortable viewing angle and it only sticks out from the wall a few inches.

I have everything hard-wired in the walls for 5.1. Put in audio jacks . Two in the rear of the room for surround and one near the floor (also in the rear) for the sub. I just made the connections with banana plugs. Here's a pic I took while I was hooking them up.

Just finished my basement remodel. Completely gutted it and rebuilt it to be a nice gaming area. Built-in component shelves, each with its own power receptacle so there is absolutely NO wires running about. All pot lights are on dimmers, soundproofed walls and ceiling, hardwired for 5.1 home theater system complete with in-wall wires and wall jacks. Last week I topped it off with this Samsung 51" 550 series 3d plasma. I have xbox 360 and Wii only (PS3 died)

Anyways, nice screen, badass made with the wires invisible. You need to make it more mancave though, more stuff inthere, it looks far too clean almost like a girls make up studio. It needs special/collectors editions on stands at the wall too.

Next time you post updated pics I expect a PS3 in them and a more stuffed room! :-)

Just got the crystal white superslim to replace my launch 60GB, which finally after 6 years began exhibiting YLOD symptoms (excessive shutting down, flashing red lights, etc.). Oh well. At least the new one is nice looking. And of course sitting above my PC there is the Wii U.
