Best Game You've played So Far 2012

I finished Max Payne 3 a couple of days ago but for some reason I'm still think about, how great it was.  That made me realize that it's been the best game I've played so far this year, maybe a split between dota 2.  So, what's the best game you've played so far this year?

I heard the friendly AI is borderline retarded. 

Bioshock 2. Played Bioshock 1 a few years ago and was "meh'd" by it so put off picking up Bioshock 2. Big mistake, so glad I played it. I'm not sure if my gaming taste has changed since I played Bioshock 1 or if Bioshock 2 was actually that much better.

lol yeah, sometimes they'll run ahead like headless chickens or run across your line of fire. Apart from that they're good. They'll revive themselves no problem or they'll revive you as soon as possible. 


The game's a lot of fun. It's a shooter, but it seems that fun and the storyline were the main goals for the developers. Not cinematics and perfecting cover mechanics.

Just saved those two idiots from execution. 

Well, for games that were actually released recently... Tribes for multiplayer, and Darkness2 for single-player.

Please tell me you plan to play New Vegas next.


For me, it would have to be Skyrim.  It sucked the life out of me for a solid month.  The DLC sucked another 20+ hours out of me and that was just the Vampire side of it.


edit- Just realized Skyrim was a 2011 game, holy **** time flies.  Uhh, I guess I'd have to go with Deus Ex: Human Revolution then.  Looking at the list of games that have come out in 2012, I realized so far I have only played Tropico 4 and a handful of Vita games.  I've since downloaded a few more from the steam sale but won't get around to them for awhile.
There are still too many great old PC games that I can't pull away from.  I just re-installed Age of Empires 3 also, so that's not going to help me at all.

As for what I've finished, I'd have to say Journey (PS3) as well. An absolutely amazing experience, and a must play for anyone.

I picked up The Witcher 2 (PC) the other day on Steam, and got sucked in for eight hours the first time I fired it up. The game is gritty, and feels real. It's mature, but not over the top. Choices are shades of gray, not black or white. I love the character Geralt. And the game is technically impressive, with amazing graphics and great audio. I haven't been this impressed with a game in quite a while.

It's not even a competition. Journey = Goty 2012

This year it was Atelier Meruru that got my attention.Spent a good 70 hours on it so far and I'm going to finish it twice.

However Assassins Creed 3 and Persona 4 Golden will certainly win 2012 for me.

Multiplayer: Twisted Metal

Single-player: Gravity Rush

Co-op: Journey

Definitely Mass Effect 3, and Max Payne 3 in second.
