How is it possible that Halo 4 takes place 4 years after Halo 3 if the legendary ending of H3 showed the ship coming very close to the planet?

I'm sure they'll pull some half-assed answer that wasn't perceived prior to questioning. That's how most writers clear a **** up. If 343 is more lucky than Bioware in that regard fans will eat it up.

Is this a legitimate question bro? The FUD Was split in half, had no propulsion system, and who knows how far it was from the shield world. Honestly, I don't think anybody expected Bungie or 343 to spell out just how far Chief and Cortana were from the planet. That secret ending was put there as a TO BE CONTINUED and not much else.

so if a movie was full of plot holes and inconsistencies, this wouldn't bother you at all? You'd just watch it and take it? Because that's what I'm getting here. if a game has a story, the story has to be consistent, even with the most minute details.

My point wasn't about plot holes, it was about complaining about something so stupid and small like new and better armor. 

You want to complain about a more badass looking suit? LOL please find something more worthwhile, it's just pulling at straws now. You can either accept that Master Chief looks like even more of a badass or you can sit down and complain how it's a plot hole online on N4G. Whatever.

I'll be playing online Nov 6, you keep busy complaining about how the writers are lazy asses that cant figure out a way to make master chief have better armor incorporated into the story, Oh wait the games not even out yet, and people act like they played the campaign, face palm. 

Enjoy playing games and stop bitching about things that dont matter, like a cosmetic makeover that does nothing more but improve on his older look. 

Oh whats that? Improvements without a whole story segment to back it up, heavens no, every little change must now have a story segment to explain why, but hey it's Halo so now we need to look at it under a microscope and give other games a free pass, So now lets call the Halo 4 writer crap, because thats how low we can swoop.

Seen the ending multiple times it doesn't add up.  Drifting in space in half a ship for four years with no back story before regarding the new armor makes no sense. So obviously 343 will pull a reason out their ass, be it something that abides by the story or it's something that reflects the games new design style, in our eyes it's new armor however they could state it's the same armor with a different style. Go figure...


@Led-Zeppelin; Calm down bro. If something like this gets you pissed that easily then you'd suit better fading into inactivity as before.

You're not a hypocrite, but your opinion is stupid. You can't just change things in stories without explaining them. There are people that genuinely enjoy the entire story line of Halo, and stupid changes like this without explanation breaks their immersion into the story. It'd be like if Lucas didn't explain how Anakin got his Darth Vader armour in Star Wars. He just shows up with the armour, I guarantee everyone will be thinking "okay what the ****? How did he get it? Who gave it to him? Why did he get it?" The same applies to this situation.


But let's see here, you're only interested in playing online, you're only interested in the fact that Chief will look more "badass" with his armour. I understand now you now, but what I don't understand is why you're even having this conversation. So enjoy the online, and don't bother replying because you clearly have no interest in having consistent storylines.
