Torchlight 2 Thread

I just wanted to create this to give some spotlight on this game. It's currently $20 through steam or through their site. There is also a demo for you to download and try the game out first. 4 Classes: Berserker, Embermage, Engineer, Outlander First impressions: It's much better than the first and D3. I have played D3 a lot and already at low levels there is much more complexity when it comes to building your character in this game. Already at level 12 I have a found a unique item and completed a set of gear (which is hard as **** to do in D3). Gameplay is fast and smooth, interesting enemies and unique ways to make your character any way you want. Will continue to update later on...

**** it's out finally? Go figure they choose to release it right after Borderlands. I'd be playing it but I'm focused solely on Borderlands 2.

Well I'm having a great time with Torchlight 2. It is very much a shame that they chose to release it just a few days after Borderlands 2, but I hope they still see great success. Having been a massive Diablo 2 fan, I had very high hopes for this to be a worthy successor and it definitely delivered. If anyone wants to game together on this and/or Borderlands 2, I'll be very active on them for quite a while.

They should have waited a couple weeks after Blands 2 to release it since they're both loot focused games. I'll probably pick it up during the steam winter sale for $5-10.

I'm playing as a Outlander, what classes did you guys pick? Right now Im confused how to spec my hero since he can do physical damage and magic damage as well. So I can either build up strength or focus or mix them both... Im going to need to go through the skill tree and find what I like and plan ahead. lol the devs know what the game is all about: LOOT. I killed a phase portal mini boss and literally my entire screen was covering in loot lol... I should have took a screen cap of it.

Can't take it seriously, but glad it's having success, I support any game dev that is able to produce great experiences for a cheap price.

Don't like the art at all. I only play this type of games to make a character that looks cool, whose powers look cool, and who looks brutal in battle. Like Diablo. Personal taste and all that.

Game has much more depth and more rewarding compared to D3 even though the art might not look as "badass" oh and I found a better pic on steam, lol I guess there were a bunch of people that were pleasantly surprised as well when all this loot dropped lol.

Just bought it and liking it so far. I'm only level 7 but enjoying single player, no doubt I'll love it when more people on N4G get it so I have people to play with. Back to Borderlands for now though.

The game gets better and constantly debating which gear to use cause there are so many variations on stats and spells on gear it's hard to decide. You can find useful loot in every mission. I sometimes play with my friend and it works out great cause we just swap gear if the other needs it.

I own this, but I blame Borderlands 2 for it not getting any play at all. I'll probably max out all 5 Borderlands 2 classes before I even get to it.
