Last time a sports team broke your heart. - Tuesday, October 09, 2012 7:29 PM ( #1 )
In 2001 the Seattle Mariners won 116 games and were primed to make a great run in the playoffs untill they were run out by the Indians in five game.

Man City Final day of the Premier League season, if they drew or lost United would get the tittle, so they went 1-0 up(meanwhile United scored to make it 1-0). QPR then equalize, at this point United would have won the title, then out of the Blue, QPR Score another 2-1 Surely United have the tittle under wraps right? United game finishes 1-0, title is all but ours it's the 90th minute.....City score....2-2 United still have the title in their grasp....Last minute of extra time.....City Goal.....What the F*CK did i just witness, holywood ain't got nothing on this, 5 months later and I'm still in disbelief.

Also England, penalties....sigh.....

Has there been an individual you cheered for that dropped the ball?  Example, I was cheering for Shawn White to win a vert gold medal and his first run he fell and was out of the contest.

Don't really get my "heart broken", but the biggest disappointment must have been the Netherlands in Eurocup 2012. My god how crap they've gotten since the World Cup :|.

Bruins losing to the Flyers in the 2010 playoffs, after being up 3-0 in the series, and then up 3-0 in game 7.

Last year in the Champions League, when Casillas saved 2 penalties back to back, then Sergio Ramos skys the ball...I felt like crying.  We were so close to the 10 european title, and we would have destroyed Chelsea.

I wouldn't say heartbroken but it was dire watching Ireland at Euro 2012. First major international tournament for 10 years and they were by far the worst team there playing the worst football possible. Awful to watch.

Also I guess in the time that I was an actual active fan (since I could actually watch them) the CL final loss to Barcelona back in 2009. That was a bad game, Ronaldo was the only player to turn up.

Is it worse to have your team make it and lose or never make it at all?

2002, Raiders Losing Superbowl, Same year, A's losing in playoffs. Also the day they traded Nick Swisher after a year after he signs a 5 year extension to play with the club. Last year, trading away Gio Gonzalez, but can't complain too much, the club is doing much better this year.

All work and no play.. makes odion go something something
