I've mainly been gaming on PlayStation systems my whole life, as you may have known by now. I owned a few different Nintendo handhelds back in the day, but other than that I've only owned Sony systems. Yeah, PlayStations 1 through Vita have entertained me for countless hours since 1997. There's probably enough PlayStation games out there to last me the rest of my life. As long as I remain a gamer, I will always game on PlayStation systems. So far I own ~175 physical games and ~25 digital. At least seventy of those I bought in the last year. I have a lot of PlayStation games left to finish and there's so many more I want to buy. While I finish up some of my enormous PlayStation backlog, I figured I might as well start picking up some Nintendo games for my collection. It's been almost five years since I first got a PS3, usually I'd get a new home console by now. I really wanted to get another console and my local game store has plenty to choose from and low prices on games. So I bought a Wii. TheLastGuardian is no longer PlayStation exclusive.
I played about fifteen games using the PS Move and most of them were pretty enjoyable. I like the Wii-mote and nunchuk too, it's quite different from the Move. Since the Wii-mote has a d-pad, you can hold it sideways to play awesome side-scrollers like Kirby's Epic Yarn. I just found out the Wii-mote makes noise when I played New Super Mario Bros., I thought that was neat. I guess I'm a fan of motion controllers lol. I'm willing to try any Move or Wii games that interest me. I'm definitely playing Bioshock Infinite and Until Dawn with the Move next year. I've wanted a Wii this whole gen and GameCube BC was a huge plus, so now here I am, a proud owner of the best two consoles of the 7th gen. Sony Computer Entertainment and the PlayStation family will always hold a special place in my heart. I'm just done playing exclusively on PlayStation platforms. Sony will probably always be my favorite video game company since I grew up on PlayStation, Nintendo is my runner up for now. I look forward to playing many great PS3 and PS Vita games in 2013, and the PS4 will most likely be my preferred system next gen.
Action Game Exchange was having a sale on used games for 40% off, so after buying twenty PlayStation games, I decided to take advantage of the sale a bit more by getting another console with some cheap games for it. I think I got a really good deal overall. The console bundle was $67, you jelly I got a red one? The GameCube controller was $7. The games pictured below cost me about $190 altogether, Metroid Prime Trilogy being the most expensive. Their used price on it was sixty bucks, it only cost me $36 with the discount. Now that's a steal. What I played of the first MP was amazing. I also got Ikaruga for $15. I'm real happy I was able to get all these games at such low prices. This is only the beginning of my new collection. There are a lot more Wii and GameCube games I'm interested in buying. Eventually I'll get a NES, SNES, N64, 3DS and other systems I want like Sega's old consoles, a gaming PC and more. I'd buy a Xbox 360 or maybe a 720 if I wouldn't have to subscribe to XBL Gold to access the online portion of the games. I can already get most of the 360's library on my PS3, so for me XBL Gold is not worth paying for just to play a few Xbox exclusives online. If the nextbox gets enough good exclusives, then I might reconsider. Anyways, I look forward to playing lots of great Nintendo games. Nintendo released a Wii exclusive a couple months ago that I plan on getting. What do you think first party support for the Wii will be like after the Wii U launches?
Recommend me your favorite Wii and GameCube games please. I'm looking for a good deal on DKCR and Kirby's Dream Collection. Amazon has some cheap Wii games I want too like Madworld, Sin and Punishment: Star Successor and Metroid: Other M. I could especially use some GameCube game recommendations.
