Why gamers can't respect anybody's opinion?

Halo 4 gets a 7 because it seems the reviewer didn't like it as much as those others that gave the game 9's and 10's so what is the problem here? Molyneux say that Wii U doesn't look as innovative as the Wii and he gave some reasons (and very good ones may I say) as to why he thinks like that and then... Jim Sterling proceeds to diss him by citing some of his old games like if that had anything to do with anything. Some gamers doesn't like the idea of GTAV having more than 1 protagonist (me included) and all hell break loose with the defenders calling everybody a hater. But the thing is that I have my reasons to not like the idea of multiple protagonists based on past experiences with Suikoden 3, Yakuza 4, Sonic Adventure, etc. Why? Because it not only breaks up the overall flow of the game for basically forcing you to start the game from the beginning multiple times to see a final ending but because the content gets shared between all the characters instead of just one so the game ends up feeling like multiple little games put together. But what now? Are people going to call me a "tool", a "hater", a "spoiled brat" because they think differently than me? Truth is that people that don't respect my opinion are the real haters, tools, and spoiled brats.... Why gamer's can't respect anybody's opinion? That's the question... Why? We are all different, we have different life experiences that makes us see things from completely different point of views so we will never agree on everything but why can't we respect that and have to start dissing each others like a bunch of illiterate idiots?

I assume you're talking about the 7 where Halo was not Call of duty so it lost points? The ones you are talking about are certain types of 'fans' of anything will bi*** and moan about anything they don't agree with. This is also not exclusive to gamers. IF you are refering to that 7 anyway, it was stupid, he wasn't comparing it to halo's of old, he was comparing it to Cod and pretending Halo's gameplay is flawed because it isn't the same as Cods. It was a stupid review, it's basically a cod fan trying something and not liking it because it isn't cod.

Don't isolate the blame to gamers. Most people can't stand the fact that someone doesn't like something you like or even love. It's the kind of thing that people feel like they have to protect the things that they hold dear. It's just human.

Same goes with movies and really any thing else. In reality, everyone expects everyone else to share their opinion. If it differs, you are the one in the wrong, not them.

True what you've said though, I think the real problem is the internet has given way too many people an easy way to voice an opinion thats out there for everyone to see. When I think back to old school gaming you used to pick up one or two of your favourite mags, see a review score and that was the end of it. If it got a 4/10 and it was something you were waiting on you wouldn't start writing hate mail or dismiss the publication as biased. Maybe some people did but then, no one else would know about it which is where the interwebs plays its part these days.

Why limit this question to gamers? Nobody, especially on the Internet, respects the opinion of the majority of others. That's life. Did you not see evidence recently in the U.S. elections? Question answered. What's next?

I've been a bodyboarder for years and between us and surfers there always been lots of tension but this doesn't even comes close to what gamers do in a daily basis around the internets.

Question answered. What's next? Dude, that's not true. Not even close. I don't know what forums do you visit but from my experience gamers are always the first ones to insult, troll, make fun of people, disrespect opinions , etc. Just look at the first few comments on this very same thread for god's sake... With gamers things get to ridiculous proportions even with the tiniest of things. Debates about surfers vs bodyboarders get heated, the same with politics, movies, the comment section about the Curiosity in Mars when people bring up religion and sometimes there are a couple here and there that start with the insults but with gamers is mostly everybody and everywhere! Youtube, forums, comment section on articles, facebook, etc. I don't even visit gaming forums regularly anymore because it's always the same crap over and over again. I like this forum because this doesn't happen very often so I tried to make a point to read the reaction but what do I get? "This thread sucks".

If you don't agree with him then you can debate it, you can criticize his views but what gamers do? They call him a "retard"! And to make things worse, it was a developer the one who called him a retard.... (in reference to the EGM review) And this is something that happens every single time an anticipated game gets a bad score without fail.

I think we can apply this to almost everything in daily life, the new generation are brats with no respect to others, or their opinions, the majority of current gamers are from such generation.
