This game releases in 1 day and 15 hours. It's F2P and looks good. Who here will be playing, and what faction are you planning to join?

Soon as I get my laptop formatted I'll be on. This thing can run it, it's just bloated down right now. Vanu is my faction already

Hopefully the numbers will be somewhat even between the factions. Was that a problem at all in the beta?

It seems to fluctuate between the factions. I have a feeling Vanu is gonna grow like crazy once all the little kids join and see "OMG THEY LOOK SO COOOOOOOOL THEY ARE LIKE AWESOME ALLIENSSS"

That's what I'm worried about. You have 2 factions that look similar, and then you have the futuristic aliens. The people who want to play as 'normal' humans will probably split evenly, but the others have only one choice. Hopefully if this happens there will be some sort of incentives for newcomers to join a struggling faction.

There's gonna be a good amount of players joining who are already loyal to a faction. Then there will be players joining who actually look at the strengths and weaknesses of each faction. I think it won't be too bad.

This game is awesome. I can get kills with the standard weapons no problem. The game can be complicated at first, but I didn't find the learning experience to be frustrating.

The opposite for me, getting killed out of nowhere after running 300m to an objective way too many times. Can't get kills unless i'm relatively close due to what feels like insane recoil on any gun I used. I can see the appeal of the game but the scale is somewhat overwhelming as was the learning experience, think Battlefield and MAG are about as big as I can handle. Just uninstalled it as a result. :/

DaThreats Its not for Mac so they lost a potential fan and transactions I'm sure they are ok with not pushing the game onto a platform where 99% of its owners don't even know the spec of their hardware. Would probably cause more hassle than its worth.

Are you guys kidding me? 1 hour? There's a lot to learn, but you shouldn't know everything right away. As long as you know FPS basics you should be fine. I haven't bought any weapons yet, but I can get kills no problem. It's skill based and not pay to win. Vanu is the faction that has low recoil guns. I was brand new to Planetside (now I've gotten about 10 hours exp across 2 factions). It's a hardcore and somewhat complex game. Don't expect to be able to go in and plow through 100+ enemies. There are buses that you can deploy anywhere into spawn points. Best of luck. Perhaps eventually I will post a non-edited video of what the gameplay is like.

A rehashed reaction image doesn't answer the question. Not to mention I don't think they're too worried about losing the 150 or so people with Macs that game.

Nah it seems about right According to Steam's hardware survey ( http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey) these are the most used OS's Windows 7 64 bit 59.32% Windows 7 14.09% Windows XP 32 bit 11.20% Windows Vista 64 bit 4.74% Windows Vista 32 bit 3.70% Windows 8 64 bit 1.85% MacOS 10.8.2 64 bit 1.60% MacOS 10.6.8 64 bit 0.98% MacOS 10.7.5 64 bit 0.69% MacOS 10.7.4 64 bit 0.54% Windows XP 64 bit 0.49% Windows 8 0.22% MacOS 10.8.1 64 bit 0.12% Other 0.46% Notice how an OS that just came out already has more users than any mac OS

This should be obvious. If more games would be available for mac, you would see ALOT of mac users using steam. Also, I'm sure alot of people use both but just use windows of course cause you can get more games for it.
