I need a GREAT Router, any suggestions?

I need a new router desperately. My wifi signal range has diminished significantly and I am rebooting it daily because I keep losing my wifi signal for my laptops and tablets. I have been researching like a mad man the past couple days and my head is swimming. GET THIS! NO, DO NOT GET THAT! THIS IS THE BEST! BS. THAT ROUTER IS NOTHING BUT TROUBLE! The most important aspect for me is range. Not capabilities I'm not going to use. My console connections are ALL hard wired. My house is a 120' in length and my router is set up on the far side of my home. I can't rewire and move it to a central location. All my hard lines are running through the walls when the house was built so I'm stuck with the location the modem and router are in. I would like to stay in the $200 range but I am willing to go to $300. Any suggestions?

get a linksys(read cisco) router and put dd-wrt on it. Also works great if you grab the madwifi drivers for your WNIC and operate on illegal channels and overclock,

Hardware and External Details The EA3500 is a dual-band router with a 2x3 antenna configuration for the 2.4 GHz band that can deliver up to 300Mbps in ideal RF environments. The 5 GHz band uses a 3x3 configuration that can deliver up to 450 Mbps. The router has six internal antennas. Unlike the entry EA series router, the EA2700, the EA3500 has a USB 2.0 port for shared storage and virtual USB. There are four Gigabit Ethernet ports on the rear panel, as well as a button for WPS (Wireless Protected Setup) connections. http://www.pcmag.com/arti.e2/0,2817,2403784,00.asp 129$

Asus RT-AC66U. Awesome router. Customizable fw. Dual band. Did I say awesome router? Take a look into it. EDIT: It also features swappable antennas so, in your case you can buy additional, stronger antennas if the stock-ones don't give you the performance you seek. But i highly doubt you will have any problems if you buy this router.

While I generally recommend Linksys Cisco, it would be prudent to purchase a router that can operate dual bands simultaneously. Many of the so-called 'dual band' routers will only allow either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz spectrums to be active at a time (ie. WAP610N, also note that this is an access point without wired connections), but I've seen these advertised no differently than true dual band routers. You'll likely need the 2.4GHz spectrum for legacy devices

However, you'll probably have an easier time getting a cheaper Linksys router that should be adequate.

I have an Asus dualband router(not gonna look up exact specs, but its n750) and I love it. Also, as Belkin has purchased Linksys, I'm gonna stay away from that for a while since I've seen WAAAY to many Belkins come back defective. But honestly I haven't had any problems with any particular router that I've spent more than $30 on. The only reason I went for the dualband Asus was because it was new and I wanted to give customers a personal review( I've tested all the others in my store), and it looked awesome - to me at least. It's also really good for my house b/c we have a 2TB external connected that we can stream media from on all of our devices (took a pic of a few b/c it was awesome). The Asus is less than $200 but you can buy the extender to put in the middle of your house if you REALLY need to - its about an extra $100. I'm sure you can find better prices online somewhere. sexy router Sexy range extender Me streaming Arrested Development on the 4 closest devices I could find (ps3, surface, Galaxy s3, and Nexus7) - same file, different spots, no hiccups or anything
