B Man
Dredd Liked it
Safe House Was okay, but predictable
Taken 2 About the same as the first movie
Seven Psychopaths Also want to see
Life Of Pi Also want to see
This Is 40 Wife wants to see :(

No way was Taken 2 like number 1. 1 was actually a good film, 2 just felt like a sequel with a low budget. In the first there was at least suspense and tension, the taken guy always seemed like he was one step behind getting his daughter back. In 2 you never ever got any sense that whoever was Taken would be lost. Plus the action was boring.

Difference of opinion, then.  The action felt the same to me.  The tension was in keeping his wife and daughter safe as opposed to just tracking down his daughter for me.  They are different movies, but they felt the same to me.

Edit: notice how I can disagree with using hyperbole like "no way" or "at least" and the like.  People use way too much hyperbole in their opinions nowadays.

Only new movies I have seen this year were Ted and the newest Resident Evil. I liked them both. 2012 was a crappy year for movies.

Next year we get:

Star Trek 2
X-Men: Days of Future Past
The Wolverine
World War Z
Evil Dead Remake
Iron Man 3
The Hangover 3
Man of Steel
Kick-Ass 2
The Hobbit part 2

Top 3:

- Lincoln
- Argo
- Looper (can't believe I thought this would be terrible)

Disappointments:

- Dark Knight Rises
- I want to list The Amazing Spider-man, but I've only seen the final hour of the film so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.

I would've liked to see some more indie films earlier in the year, but school, work, or gaming had me caught up for 2/3 of the year.

I liked Looper quite a bit too. I'm going to watch it again this Tuesday and see how it stacks up on a second viewing. As it stands now it is my second favorite of the year.

And to Milky- I do enjoy independent films and the like but I haven't had the chance to see any this year. I don't know any near by theaters that play them.

Indeed.  I suppose what I was so surprised with was how realized its unique identity was:  sci-fi/neo-noir played out mostly in cornfields.

I wasn't the biggest fan of 1 or 2 action scenes, but it has practically everything else: solid themes, cool style, and unexpected twists.

Not a whole lot out there for 2012 one.. of the worst years for movies so far I think in a while...

lots of old ideas and same movies being released again...

but here is my list... the top three...

I was shocked at the hunger games... the movie is so good I am looking forward to what the book holds.... bought them just need to get through on other book than I am on too this series... can not say how much I enjoyed this movie.

Very funny... Johnny Depp is one of my favorite actors... and this movie is great it has some really funny parts... I loved...  it is hard I don;t think I have ever seen a movie of tim burtons that I did not like...

Best pixar movie every so far... I loved... the kids loved it and there was an excellent story to it... great for the young and the old...

Star Trek 2
X-Men: Days of Future Past
The Wolverine
World War Z
Evil Dead Remake
Iron Man 3
The Hangover 3
Man of Steel
Kick-Ass 2
The Hobbit part 2

Ted was the lamest most retarded movie ever... I could not finish it was a lame ass movie... I can't believe  people liked this...  disgusting humor only accepted because of a taking bear...

Now that I had my rant about a horrible movie that next year list is looking good....

A thief with a unique code of professional ethics is double-crossed by his crew and left for dead. Assuming a new disguise and forming an unlikely alliance with a woman on the inside, he looks to hijack the score of the crew's latest heist

Love this actor as a bad ass... looking forward to this movie... great action flick I hope...

Bullet to the Head
After watching their respective partners die, a cop and a hitman form an alliance in order to bring down their common enemy.

Come on Sly kicking ass never gets old...

John McClane travels to Russia to help out his seemingly wayward son, Jack, only to discover that Jack is a CIA operative working to prevent a nuclear-weapons heist, causing the father and son to team up against underworld forces.

John McClane guns bad guys... bad guys dying sounds good...

A modern day fairy tale in which the long-standing peace between men and giants is threatened, as a young farmer leads an expedition into the giants' kingdom in hopes of rescuing a kidnapped princess.

Amazing new twist to an old tale... Looking forward to this very much... looks really great... awesome trailer... must watch

Mia, a young woman struggling with sobriety, heads to a remote cabin with her brother and a group of friends, where the discovery of a Book of the Dead leads to danger and horror.

Evil Dead... I must or a fan I am not bring on the B Movies wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeee

One of the few remaining drone repairmen assigned to Earth, its surface devastated after decades of war with the alien Scavs, discovers a crashed spacecraft with contents that bring into question everything he believed about the war, and may even put the fate of mankind in his hands

Very cool SiFi movie...  the trailer is interesting and from it I want to see this movie a lot...

Tony Stark uses his ingenuity to fight those who destroyed his private world and soon goes up against his most powerful enemy yet: the Mandarin.

Iron man... let hope he does not get drunk at a part...

FBI agents track a team of illusionists who pull off bank heists during their performances and reward their audiences with the money.

I love bank heists and the who done it parts of the story... sign me up

An alien infant is raised on Earth, and grows up with superhuman abilities. He sets out to use these abilities to guard his adopted world.

Please hope they don't **** it up... Super man is one of the worst comic book heros out there to make in to a movie or a game...
He can not be hurt at all. rocks... in a lead box is the villian....OOOOooooooo

Kick-Ass 2

The costumed high-school hero Kick-Ass joins with a group of normal citizens who have been inspired to fight crime in costume. Meanwhile, the Red Mist plots an act of revenge that will affect everyone Kick-Ass knows.

Hit girl is a so awesome... love it... glad to see they are doing more...

Despicable Me 2
Gru, the girls, the unpredictably hilarious minions and a host of new characters return.

still laughing from the first movie... looking forward to the laughs to continue...

Wolverine travels to Japan to train with a samurai warrior.

Self healing man, skeleton of metal, Bad attitude and claws to boot... yes yes please...

Red 2 Old assassins kicking ASS.... first was awesome bring it on...

The continuing adventures of Katniss Everdeen, which take place in a futuristic dystopian world, as she prepares for the Quarter Quell.

First movie was awesome still thinking about it...

47 Ronin

An 18th century set story centered on a band of samurai who set out to avenge the death of their master.

Samurai warriors are one of the original bad ass killers.... slice and dice what can I say.... but lights camera action...

those are my picks so far for 2013 a way better lineup I think than 2012... cheers guys see you at the movies....

1. Les Miserables
2. The Dark Knight Rises
3. Hunger Games

1. Les Miserable. I knew the story, and the many of the songs by heart, and it still hit me like a slege hammer.
2. The Dark Knight Rises. American Nobility defined and expressed.

3. Hunger Games-actually better then the books. Lawrence give vulnerability.
4. Everything else. It was a very good year movies, probably one of the best.

Some of you guys have the worst taste in movies...

2012 was a fantastic year for movies. Some very new and fresh ideas, you just need to know where to look.
