Gaming figures and collectibles - Thursday, January 03, 2013 8:21 AM ( #1 )
Thought about making a thread just for figures and figurines after seeing the gaming collection thread but presumed not many people would be into those so how about a figures and general collectibles thread? Post up your most loved and prized gaming-related collectibles and talk about 'em.

Here's some of mine:

Figures -

Raiden Real Action Heroes figure and Grey Fox in a box:

(You can see my 19inch TV height in the background to get an idea of the size of the Raiden figure, it's massive)

Grey Fox

Few of my other bits and pieces. Whole MGS2 and MGS4 soundtracks, Assassin's Creed II Black Edition, FFXIII Limited Edition, and there's a couple of MGS artbooks underneath the stuff there

I also have a few other things, like the Assassin's Creed III Freedom Edition with a nifty Connor figurine (much better than the ACII figurine, facial detail is quite poor on the Ezio figure), and my Mass Effect Collector's Edition which I love even though there's little stuff in it.

I have a bunch of stuff... but sadly it is waiting for the gaming room I am going to make in a few times...  right now it is a play room....  or in another way of saying ... the room things can be thrown.... if it is not nailed down it is fair game to be thrown...

That said I have the killzone helmet would like to mod it and put lighted eyes in it... **** load of Mario stuff...  some Halo, and than odds and a few other things...

Looking at buying two Collectors editions every year to add to the pot....

I am so kicking my self for not getting the lunch box from fallout... man... what a stupid move.... in not getting that...

I don't really have any collectibles other than a Mario Bobblehead i got a long long time ago. I really want a model of Metal Gear Rex though.

Out of the gameloft collection, the most recent stuff I like is the LBP2 USA Collectors, GOWIII collectors/Pandoras box + separately/not collectors game edition Kratos mask, Uncharted 3 USA Collectors and given to me some extras by a good American friend like Drakes journal (from UC3 launch event) and Bioshock stuff (tshirt still wrapped in plastic, and Bioshock needle etc).

It is not really big, but in the picture it might look a bit small in an optical way. It has nice details though. But yeah when it was shown at first it looked really big in the advertisements ;-)

@ZNP: Have you seen the ThreeA figure? It went for $500 but damn it's huge and looks incredible. I didn't have the money for it at the time but am waiting for them to announce orders for the RAY as I kind of prefer the strangeness of the amphibious metal gear myself.

@TheMART: Those LBP book/game ends look awesome, I wish we got that stuff in the EU I would have loved those, mind you they probably wouldn't fit anywhere.

Hah I live in The Netherlands, so we had the weak EU version overhere too. I imported it through PlanetAxel, later called AxelMusic that was based in UK. They went bankrupt in 2012, but they always had some reasonable importing on USA games. I think I paid around 85 to 90 Euro for LBP2 CE USA, while the EU version costed 80 Euro overhere too but had no bookends just a sackboy and some DLC or something.

UC3 USA collection was send by an American friend. As long as the one sending it put a max value of about 20 to 25 USD on the box, customs won't tax it so you don't have to pay extra.

That's the one I want! I would never able to get one though. I don't have any extra money to spend on stuff like that and they stopped selling it correct? So that means anyone who is gonna re-sell is gonna sell for thousands. Though I'd take a Ray too. Just the level of detail on them is awesome. I'd like to get something from Zone of the Enders too. Maybe something from Evangelion too.

@Mart: Ah that's awesome. I ended up forking out for that LBP2 European CE even though it kind of sucked, but I did see Kevin and Tom from Media Molecule on release day and they signed my copy which was cool. Sucked how few people were there though, they were at a store showing off the game and literally about 5 or 6 people (including me) came in. No wonder no-one ever comes here.

@ZNP: I think some places might still have it. Sideshow Collectibles are allowing people on a waiting list still but I'd be surprised if anyone falls through this late on payments. I think they were supposed to be sent out earlier but got delayed for some reason. I think they had some decent Jehuty figures released alongside the ZOE HD release (and there was a package with it in Japan I think). I was close to ordering it but it was just way too expensive, ended up at like €200+ on Play-Asia. You might find some people selling the REX figures on eBay for a little over $500, sure I saw one listed for $550 already surprisingly a while ago but to be honest I wouldn't fancy paying that much on eBay for it, plus if you buy them from ThreeA directly they say $490 including shipping worldwide, while other places and sellers don't even include shipping with that price.

I don't own any figures or statues, but I do have some autographed memorabilia.

Autographed Halo: Reach poster by members of Bungie at PAX 2010.

And from PAX 2011, autographed Halo: CE game by the voices of Master Chief, Cortana, 343 Guilty Spark, Captain Keyes, and Marty O'Donnell.    Also autographed Halo 2 case by voice of Master Chief, Marty O'Donnell, and Frankie:

Got my Milla Maxwell from Tales of Xillia figure before the weekend. I'm a bit disappointed by the size especially for the price I ended up paying, but the detail is really nice and I love the colours of it. Not sure if I will get many more Alter figures in the future though if I can't get them from Play-Asia at a decent price (since I can't be sure of missing customs charges unless it's from them).
