Destination Playstation Feb 25-28 - Saturday, January 05, 2013 1:58 PM ( #1 )
Some interesting Playstation days ahead!

I can't see them announcing more IP's/games for PS3 this year really, it is already packed.

PSVita can use some more announcements, although there is a lot of exclusive games releasing this year. Some 3rd party announcements would be great though. And the announcement of a GOW, Gran Turismo and some other games, if not coming this year, at least early 2014.

I expect a pricedrop for both PS3 (the 12GB model gave Sony less costs) and if so, PSVita can't stay on the official 250 bucks either. They'll both drop sub 200.

Maybe, maybe the first teasing of PSOrbis, they want to go ahead of Microsoft this time which will announce Xbox Infinite in April (something like they did with 360 on MTV launch event ahead of E3 in 2005).

I hope there's SOME announcement about new hardware. Anything, I don't care. I can't wait for some of the games that will release this year, but I'm starting to get excited about new consoles again.

Just starting to get excited about new consoles? Where have you been the last 3 years? This console generation has been the longest in history and we are way overdue for new hardware.

OT: I doubt that Sony will show much, if anything, about the PS4 in February. I would love to see it though.

I think this gen's length was good. It really didn't felt overdue to me until 2012 and that's because Sony was dormant this past year. 2013 will bring a lot of great games and it wasn't until the last couple of months that I started to want the upgrade in visuals and performance since I was happy with what these consoles were producing.  Specially the PS3.

That's just me though. Most people probably wanted the upgrade a long time ago.

Sony forgot to put out some big game for Xmas 2012 though, All Stars wasn't exactly a blockbuster... If they'd had GOW for Xmas or something that would have done a better job in pushing more PS3's too. Now 2013 almost seems too packed with games!

Not expecting anything.

I would be happy for an update on Beyond and Rain, i think a lot of people have forgotten about it:

It's being made by SCE though, so i wouldn't be surprised if there is nothing. I think they'll show a new trailer for GOW: A.

I can't see anything important being mentioned, Sony has barely highlighted this upcoming event, MS already has a countdown clock for E3.

Showing a trailer of GOWA for 3 days straight sounds a bit boring...

They gotta make something out of 3 days of Destination Playstation, right?

Anyways, this gen lasts too long for sure, but PSVita saved me early 2012 getting a new gaming gadget. I really see Sony doing the pricedrop on both PS3 and PSVita, certainly because they need to get the PSVita sales up fast to keep 3rd party on board.

And about a year later than the USA/EU release it would make sense.

Maybe:

Day 1 - Concentrate on PS3. Talk about this generation for PS3 and the year 2013. PS+ and the future of it. Price cuts if any. Announce PSBAR DLC. Trailer for Beyond, GOW:A demo, maybe a teaser for TLU multiplayer.

Day 2 - Talk about Vita. Talk about upcoming games, use it as a chance to pitch to devs to keep making games. Maybe have a trailer for Tearaway and Killzone.

Day 3 - Just a games area for the public.

I dunno.

Different days for platforms is possible. New trailers for Tear Away and Killzone seem a no brainer to me, I mean those are a few of the important IP's that have to push PSVita units.

About PS All Stars, the game sold very bad, it dropped out of top 50 selling lists of games within no time. I can see them offer PS All Stars on both PS3 and PSVita soon -maybe announced at the Destination Playstation days even- for free with PS+ so they'll at least have a more healthy online number of users to keep up the community.

Public execution of Jerry Lambert (Kevin Butler). Beheading; katana by Shuhei Yoshida.
