I'm still kinda lost.
You can only play games on it if your pc is on?

Yeah and you need a kepler video card (GTX 600 series onward).

There are going to be way too many competitors out there.

So to sum up we have:

Wii U
Xbox 720
PS4
Steambox
Ouya
Project Shield
Gamestick
Neo Geo X
3DS
Vita

and there are rumors that Apple is going to reveal a console of sorts.

2013 is going to be very interesting.

So Vita and Nintendo DS are now dead in water?

Yeah, because everyones home wifi reaches out to the bus, school and even holidays abroad too...

lol

It is streaming PC games at home...

Lol so one needs a specific GPU for this too. This is such a nice product...

Besides one needs a PC gaming rig, it streams the game over WiFi.

Now most PC gamers I hear, always talk about 720p console games being HD Ready/non real HD and not worth to play as their PC's do 2500 x 1600 master resolutions on a larger monitor with great 2ms refresh rate.

If they want that, why would they go stare at a tiny screen at 1280 x 720 resolution?

Oh and the design looks horrible. It looks like a device out of the 90's with that flip screen.
I don't know what this device actually tries to get in as a target group, but it isn't competing with any handheld, it is more like finding its own niche market of PC gamers that don't care for the highest resolution or miss the couch while gaming at their desk.

This will sell better than the Vita.

Unfortunately, outselling the lowly Vita isn't a benchmark any company would likely have. But you're right.

As someone who doesn't buy into handheld consoles, this looks to be the most appealing to me. Still not gonna be buying it. The hate this thing is getting from Vita owners is hilarious on the main page. I may become a Shield supported if the fanboys are already blowing a gasket.

I honestly would be ashamed to get that humongous thing out in the open.  Then again... The little I've play handhelds, I've done it at home.

That thing really looks ugly as hell...

And when one is away from home, it just does Android store games? Nice. Angry Bird on the go, it only needs the touch screen, not that massive bulky controller that is connected to it lol

Damn that's ugly. Hopefully it will blow the OUYA out of the water though and we'll never have to hear from that pos ever again.

I don't see the excitement of this product carrying onto the next week, let alone it actually selling Million/s of unit.
----------

But i might wrong, it might actually get released and sell million/s of units and if it does, it'll be only because it's got Steam, the PC Fanboys will buy anything 'Steam/Valve'.

Like I said, it is a niche product.

Without that, it is just a portable Ouya system as mentioned. Or a pretty tiny 5 inch Tegra 4 tablet with a bulky controller connected to it to play old console emulators I guess. Which can be played with a tablet + iCade, WiiMote or DS3 too...

I don't think this will make even the smallest impact on the handheld market
especially if it launches above $200 HECK, I'd even go as far as to say $170
and what of it's games? will it go full retail price *59.99

This thing is doomed to fail if it cost more than the vita or AS much as the vita
vita will be more appealing

3DS is out of the question... another league really...
