PS3 sales surpass Xbox 360

A new report by International Data Corporation (IDC) has revealed that PlayStation 3 sales have surpassed the Xbox 360's.

All you had to say was that after dominating last gen, it took Sony 6 years to catch up to Microsoft's one year lead while everyone else is seemingly focused on next gen.

There's no victory for Sony this gen. They were utterly dethroned by Microsoft, who now owns the trendy console brand. Sony's got nothing but rough roads ahead.

 Awesome. Too bad it only took 6 years. Now we'll get to see who is going to be on top at the starting gates this next generation, just around the corner.

Ok aside from Kon wrecking his house with Master Chief's helmet right now, I think this is good for the industry. For them to be able to recover from such a scary launch.  They still need to recover as a company though and if they do that, we will have Playstation for a while.

Gen is over and finally they do it? Microsoft clearly won in this situation. Going into a generation as nobody and coming on top of the industry king for 6 years? Yeah, Sony definitely won.

Sorry, not industry king. Second place, they were behind Nintendo.

According to recent posts on other subforums, the xbox 360 just took last place in the great console war. Our condolences for those who have bought a 360, may you not buy another last place system again.
