Kon on English. - Friday, January 25, 2013 9:35 PM ( #1 )
Our little buddy Kon is on a journey to learn the pain in the ass language we call English.
I think we should help the guy out.

Grammar rules for Kon. Go.
I before E except after C or when sounded like A, as in neighbor and weigh.

Kon, not do you worry, padawan, young you are still. When not referencing the game, Crysis, it is actually spelled crisis. Meaning a situation much like -MD-'s punctuation. Yo, I got U bac Gurl!!!

Beingfeisty atheist in society, my conscientious deficiency of faith towards ancient omniscient deities with inscient policies isn't weird at all.

Science is sufficient.

When talking about yourself always capitalize the I no matter where it is in the sentence.

To tell if you should use I or me in a sentence (for example "Kon and I talked on the forums." or "Kon talked with Fatman and me."), take out the other noun and see if it still makes sense ("I talked on the forums." or "Kon talked with me.").

You already have much better english skills than whoever made Big Rigs, that's for sure haha.

How to use their, there and they're in a sentence.

  • They're house is on fire so I'm going to go inside of it.
  • I wanted to buy that game over their but I decided to steal it instead.
  • Brazil is a **** infested country but there people are good people.

Similar to MD's (but a bit more basic), how to use to, too and two in a sentence-

-I have to go to work.
- There are too many damn games to play.
-I played two games this week.

@Matty

"Kon talked with I" Works just as well as "kon talked with me".

Me and my friend. Of course you would need a friend to be able to say such a thing.

My friend and I is the grammatically correct one since you are supposed to put others first as a sort of respect, similar to how other languages use certain nouns to address different people. Most people in casual conversation say me and my friend.

I don't know exactly how to explain the technical business of it but you don't say things like "Did I [past tense verb]", you'd say "Did I [present tense verb]". If you've entered a contest for example, you'd say "Did I win" as opposed to "Did I won" as the "did" is already defining the sentence as referring to the past. Or you'd say "Did you find the remote?" rather than "Did you found the remote?". (At least that's the only way I can describe it.)
