Yes they could have polished the game more but i only came across 2 or 3 bugs which was a soldior halfway through a wall, some sound glitches, nothing to spoil the game though. The reason I gave a 7.5 was bad soundtrack, sounds of the guns were poor on my 5.1 setup, graphics should have been higher, not 2007 and the storyline was poorly written. At the end of the day the game reminds me of old FPS like DOOM style play and graphics remind me of a ps3 game at the start of the genertion like /gericho. All in all if you play the game as a shooter its fun, if you want to get immersed into the game story you will more than likely hate the game, just go with the flo.

Maybe, but sometimes I enjoy just shooting aliens with no story, i was not hyped for this game in the first place as i have never really enjoyed or finished the other Alien games, in fact this is the first one I have completed so that must be saying something, if I was to give it a score from a end of a console generation point of view then yes ai, graphics, animations etc are way off games from 2012/13 so maybe it is a 6.5 or something, but at the end of the day if you enjoyed the game then surely u give it a higher score. Remember 7.5 is not bad or good, gamers today generally dont buy games less than a 8.5 lol.  I think what I am trying to say is its no where near as bad as alot of reviewers are saying.  Hey this coming from someone who actually enjoyed DNF too, sometimes just dont take the game too seriously or hype something up too much before release imo, prefered this game over my DS3 experience which has better ai, animations, physics, graphics etc.  /thats not too say I disliked DS3 though, just loads of annoying bits which aliens did not have.

I wanted to get this for the multiplayer, AVP got average reviews but the multiplayer was a lot of fun for me. This is going to get a price drop in 2 weeks so i might get it then.

i dont know how you feel but just rent it lol for the MP i havent tried AVP MP or the game i have it but never but it in...played the Beta tho for AVP MP and played maybe 5 matches but got over run by Predators

You mean fun factor? See the thing is with video games, you can't just rate on fun factor. Objectively speaking the worst looking, playing, sounding game objectively can be subjectively fun to people. But you have to rate it objectively, not subjectively. You can throw in your opinion and say if you had fun or not, but ultimately we're rating these things on more than just fun.

I think you can, Earth Defense Force while not technically great was super fun to play.

This. I would also add that it didn't help that Borderlands was kind of overrated in the press, and put Gearbox in this false position of a studio that made constant hits.

It's not as bad as the reviewers say, granted its not what they said it would be and the demo to final product differences are far from insubstantial, but considering I was not really hyped for the game and getting it as a valentines gift from the wife both of which may soften any ill feelings I have towards gearbox (although it is pretty clear they misled a lot of people and I hope they feel the backlash too), shouldn't have cost 40 pound though! either way its not too bad, sometimes looks a bit rubbish on textures/ animations etc, I have only noticed 2 minor glitches so far in sp and 2 or 3 in mp but I'm enjoying it never the less
I think reviewers jumped into the same boat a bit 2 out of 10 by some very few over 5 really which is a little on the harsh side I think. Its ok If you see it for 15 to 20 pound its worth a go but expect mp to be the highlight.

Pretty peculiar that they were showing off the singleplayer making false claims regarding it when they clearly knew it was garbage, showing off more polished footage that wasn't even in the game. Brink-False-Advertising 101.  They're more at fault than any other developer involved.

Oh for sure, showing off video as actual gameplay only to pull a bait-n-switch should have some sort of repercussion.

I was sad to see this not do very well... if I do get it. it will be for the PC so I can play some games with acid if he gets...

We were both getting it for sure when they showed the first demo... but.. now it just seems like it was PUSHED out the door or poorly made...

i'm not even mad this game is getting crapped on... i'm mad my beloved gearbox had something to do with this alleged POS
