Too keep or not to keep your PS3 trophies

Do you think PS4 will roll over your PS3 trophies or will they start you from zero again ? I personally dont mind either way, yes I would like to keep them but also would it be unfair to newcomers who wish to add friends who are already level 10 or 20 and immediatly alienate and turned off by a normally good comparing feature being so far behind there new found PS4 buddies.  Anyway just a thought, what do you guy think?

I am looking to change my name anyways... to something different...

They should keep them, but allow name changes and more friends that way we don't have to worry about who to keep. I hate having to delete old friends that just haven't been on recently enough to keep them when I'm not sure they are on vacation or without a console for financial reasons.

I personally don't care, but your trophies will go where your account goes, and your account will most likely be the same with the PS4 as the one you have on the PS3.

Well if your PSN account will carry over, the trophies will probably carry over as well. Hmmm... even if they don't do BC, I think they should put some emulations for some of your PSN games. It would be nice to play some favourites on psn on the ps4 near launch if their launch games are low.

the last xbox let you port your live account to the 360 so I don't see why this one won't. tbh I'd also rather have a fresh clean slate without some achievements and trim down my friends list

Oh wow, an actual comment! Anyway, that's interesting news. That means that it's very likely for the next xbox people can keep their gamer profiles. Maybe they should give the option to start fresh, but still keep the records?

I think it would be pretty funny if they restarted them on all the consoles just to make all the people that spent countless hours getting them realize it was a waste of time.

I'd be okay with this. I never do tedious trophies, because they are tedious. I do things if I'm having fun doing them.


There are two types of difficult trophies: challenging ones, and tedious ones. Were I playing a game like Ninja Gaiden, and there was a trophy like clear Eternal Legend without using items, I would try it. If the trophy was collect 1000000 stupid pieces of sh!t (I'm looking at RPGs here), I wouldn't bother attempting it.

Having said all that, this kind of stuff is already mutually shared between the Vita and PS3 is it not? It'd be quite random to suddenly not have it transfer over to the PS4

I agree with this (somewhat).


I don't like "kill grind" or w/e trophies. I like challenging ones, like getting all Gold Medals in Wipeout HD Elite Campaign. That one took me forever to do. 


I love my RPG trophies thou, haha. Assuming they require "hunting" of hard enemies.. not a fan of get 100000000 gold.. or get to lv99 (spend 200hours grinding the same dmn mobs)
