A New Console War . . .

So i saw this article on the front page . . . http://n4g.com/news/11741...nt-console-as-xbox-360 It's been a long time since i've since so many agrees and disagrees on single comments. 258 agrees to 215 disagrees O_O the comment section actually got to four pages. N4G hasn't seen something like this in a long long time. It seems like the fanboys are out in full force and are getting ready for more smack talk. After E3, the sh*t going to hit the fan. Does anyone think N4G is about to explode with fanboy mayhem? Are you ready for memes, sales figures, tears, gifs, betrayals, mind blowing moments and are you ready to laugh your a** off at the comments?

I am ready right there at the front line. Have to decide yet what side to pick to fight the war for. For sure it won't be for that sad WiiUnderpowered HAH. Looking at the rumored specs, and how Sony moved their act around with PS3 and PSVita from being arrogant at launch to being the most game focussed company now, and having PS+ as a great service compared to overpriced XBL... I'm in the Sony camp. Oh. And N4G bring back the Open Zone, its needed for early warfare :-)

Not a new war, just the same soldiers. Most people here, regardless of what is said, know exactly what console they are buying, the news only confirms their purchase. criticizing another platform that threatens the success of their own is a defense mechanism coupled with excessive brand loyalty or even sadder, reinforce a sense of worth( knowing you bought the "right" console). As much as I like n4g, discussing or even debating gaming, it gets to primitive here. here's to gaming gentlemen

I was a major 360 fanboy, certainly when Gears 1 dropped at the end of 2006 and I was playing its MP each night for 1 to 1.5 years straight. With the release of LittleBigPlanet, I had to buy the PS3 LBP bundle at the end of 2008. MS got Kinect, original new IP's dried up, Sony pushed it harder got more new IP's and went crazy with PS+. Bought the PSVita day 1, no regrets. I had the Wii too pretty much from launch, but can't say I have even been close to become a Nintendo fanboy since the days of the SNES/N64... And hey nothing wrong with it either, they just need to get the Open Zone back. If you don't want the fanboy talk don't go there. It was perfect. N4G got pretty boring when it was removed

N4G got pretty boring when it was removed I think you and I frequent N4G for different reasons lol, nothing wrong with that though. And regarding your bouncing around consolse, that s how it should be, if one consolse isn't doing it for you and you have the time and money to purchase another, why not. What makes me uneasy is when we criticize people for their console of choice, as if we bought it for them. no one should have to explain why they like something they paid for.

Just ban them all already. Oh wait, won't happen because they generate revenue.

Glanced at the thread a little earlier and I too was surprised to see all of those votes, didn't someone just a little while ago post up a picture of a post with say 220 disagrees and say that they hadn't seen a comment with so many disagrees for such a long time? Between now and E3 will probably be mayhem on the front page.

You'd think that with a loss of 50% of the market share that SONY fanboys would number 50% less than the beginning of this gen. I think it'll get a lot dirtier and a lot more entertaining. I hope SONY sticks with this latest leaked controller, that thing provides A LOT of ammunition. Can't wait for February 20th. I wanna see them let Kaz embarrass himself on stage again.
How quick does SONY want to forget about the PS3?

Duplicate accounts, check the rest of comments, you will notice the normal agrees to disagrees ratio.

I'm glad to see MS is staying professional and it's not lowering themselves like Sony, with those ads.

LtSkittles Guys, don't start flaming. Keep it civil. okay , OT, am I the only one who actually realizes how important Nintendo is to the video gaming industry, people on the main page are happy that the Wii U is failing. Hardware wise it might not be what we expected for next gen, but the software line-up is starting to look much more appealing than before.

The console war is good for a few laughs. It brings all the crazies out. Wasn't Megaton's life threatened by one recently?

I'm satisfied with my Wii U hardware wise, I wasn't expecting it to outdo the PS4 or 720. The Wii made Nintendo's intentions pretty clear that that was no longer a concern. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will probably be my next purchase. The problem is the current drought of titles, but this is not an uncommon thing for new consoles. By summer, they need to have some great stuff out and I'm sure we'll find out what's coming at E3
