PS4 interface pics

Yes i know we have a PS4 thread, but this should have it's own topic:







I think it looking really good, a definite step up from the PS3. It could do with a few more improvements but it's a step in the right direction.


I'm not sure if this means there is no longer an XMB.

Oh look it's the Metro UI.

Last screen is way too much like Facebook, hope they change that, or that it at least isn't the main PSN page.

Judging by the trophy level pic, PS4 will also support trophies, I do hope the PS3 ones carry over to the PS4. Also interface looks nice, and simple, however the last pic where people can comment on your screenshots is too much imho, other than the last pic, I agree, a definite improvement over the current xmb. 

As long as it's easy to use I don't care what it looks like. That's why I liked the XMB so much.

Xbox is horrible for their interface.

Xbox interface is just XMB with image spam everywhere. Always has been since they dropped the blades. First it was just XMB turned on its side, now it's just XMB with image blocks. I don't think there's a lot of room for growth in a console UI. XMB as a foundation works pretty well.

XMB is the PS3 interface genius.

How can you find anything on something you don't own. Also finding things on the PS3 could not be any easier, only a duck with mild down syndrome wouldn't find it easy.

For the slower Kons among us, I was saying Microsoft copied the XMB mechanics and just added images everywhere. It's a little different now, but it was pretty blatant a couple revisions back. It was just sideways XMB.

the xbox interface is bloated and annoying. saying you can find things easier there baffles my mind, it is set up to put as many ads in your way as possible, its the same reason why walmart puts their best selling depts at the back of the store- they hope you will see something along the way and buy it.

ads everywhere and it takes way to many button presses to do anything.... i personally cant stand it.

only thing you can fault the xmb for is poor management of large folders (scrolling indefinitely anyone?) and loading slow as piss when in game.

Whats with the XMB smack talk? I can't think of anything more convenient than waiting ten seconds for the menu to load up mid game just to send a message. Especially how crucial it is for me to access my theme settings while in game, you know how helpful that is?  Revolutionary interface right there. 

It looks fresh, but the last few pics looked really busy. I think it may be just a screen of viewing your friend's accomplishments, hope all those windows aren't on the home screen though.  will this replace xmb

Load times are *hopefully* a thing of the past here. Background downloading and gaikai will take ps4 to instant gaming

Will I still be unable to send or read a message while in the store, but able to see that I've received them? Sony's brilliance is too much for me to handle. Finding flaws with the XMB is like counting stars in the sky.
