GT6 on PS3 out this year, maybe PS4 too

Maybe Sony is pulling the same trick that is done for Watchdogs by Ubisoft,  doing a PS4 better looking version, then a port to PS3?

theres been 2 GT's on every ps system since the first. Not counting Prologue, GT6 on the PS3 seems very right.

Why rush 6 on the PS4 (new tech), which we all know isnt going to be as great as it could be had it come out much later in the PS4's lifetime.

i rather have 7 on 4 and 6 on 3

I will most likely skip GT6 and wait for GT7

Lol this is basically a confirmation of GT6. I don't get Sony's plan releasing the same game on both ps3 and ps4. Its good for me (won't upgrade to ps4 in a long time), but surely it will slow PS4 sales.

Wasn't that speculation of a release date from the internet and not from Sony?

While it would be easy cash to release on the PS3, I think it will be a bad idea for them to release such a massive console moving game on the PS3 just after they revealed the PS4. It would harm the whole process of trying to get gamers from the PS3 to the PS4.  

If they go with PS4 only, the game will probably not sell as well as it would on the PS3 at the beginning, but if they drop a bomb like GT6 releasing at launch (or launch window) on E3, then they will secure good launch numbers and GT6 will sell well over time. It will also make it easier for people to migrate to the PS4.

I agree.. leave 6 on ps3 and put the new engine or assets on too ps4... the other way around just never works out so great...

Uh, Watchdogs coming out on both PS3 and PS4 isn't a rumor, Ubisoft confirmed it themselves.


They said that its developed on PS4 first, then ported to PS3 and 360.


And actually it wouldn't hurt Sony to have GT6 the best looking version on PS4, and a port on the PS3 that isn't looking as good. The real fans will want the best thing and get the PS4 with GT6, and they'll have over 75 mln installed base on PS3 to sell the game to also, making some good money there.

As a real GT fan, I would want GT6 on PS4 rather than on PS3.

Not gonna happen.

As a real GT fan, I would want GT6 on PS4 rather than on PS3.

As much as you want it on PS4, fact is that they already build the engine on PS3 for GT5, so building GT6 in about 3 years is easier for a 75+ mln installed base more economical logical too.


Building a new engine for PS4's new hardware, and getting the game up and running how they want it most likely takes them more than 3 years. GT5 took them 5 to 6 years.

Well at best they started GT6 early with a 2nd team somewhere in 2009 for PS4, and then port it to PS3....

They acknowledged a lomg time agonthey started working on gt6, and have since kept quiet. This leads me to believe its a ps4 title. I can see them releasing a prologue version on ps3 this year, and releasing gt6 on ps4 within a year of the ps4 release.

An early release on ps4 will guarantee gt7 on ps4 also (late release for gt5 is the reason why we're even discussing this). And gt6 release early for ps4 will move a bunch of consoles for sony

That makes a lot of business sense. Gran Turismo is usually the best looking racing game around. What better to showcase next gen than GT6? It would be a missed opportunity if it doesn't appear on PS4.
