It'll probably lose a bit of popularity in the digital download realm, but I don't think it's really going anywhere.

Pirates will still pirate, but with the online features of the next-gen, FTP models, and the circumvention you'll be required to do, I'd say console piracy is much less of a problem now than it used to be. But it has nothing to do with game size. I mean, most (all?) games are downloadable from the PS Store on the PS4 anyway, so that wouldn't be the restriction.

Modding seemed to be at its peak with the original Xbox because of the sheer amount of extra stuff you could do with it (install Gentoo, run emulators, run XBMC, backup your games to HDD, extreme customization options, trainers/mods, etc., all the while still using XBConnect or XLink to play online). But those online services only worked with LAN enabled games, and those aren't common nowadays.

PC piracy on the other hand will always be there, unfortunately. Steam is an amazing service though and Steam Cloud makes it even better, and developers who release PC only titles get hurt the most by piraters. So if you game on PC, why pirate?

Games are already that big. You think people really care? Now that we have terrabyte hdds and higher, the only thing those pirating are concerned about is the amount of time it would take. And with the right amount of seeds a 30 gig download can be done in a day or less.

I'd be more concerned with my ISP. Pay up to $110 a month only to hit a hit a download cap. Said this before, but for digital to be successful ISPs need to be man handled by other industries to cut the bull****.

Pirates have terrabytes to burn, just a matter of patience for them to download

People download 8-12GB movies, they'll download 50GB games.

I'm downloading this since classes started, so about 3 weeks i guess. No one is seeding so the download speeds are quite low.

It's not even that. Just considering the fact that people pirate FULL blurays quality movies (25-50gb), a game shouldn't make u think otherwise.
