Kojima Trolling: Phantom Pain?

So incase anyone didn't know there was a trailer released about a game called Phantom Pain, which seemed a lot like MGS, made by some unheard of studio. 

And now GTTV did an interview with Moby Dick studios. 



Guy is obviously CG, rumour has it, it's a tech demo for fox engine.

Yeah i think it's computer generated, i'm not so sure if it's from the FOX Engine.

I think Geoff was given a set of questions to ask and they mo-capped a guy to answer the questions, then computer generated the crap out the face. I don't think the engine can detail faces like that.

Unless they've made a truly amazing engine, that would be crazy.

It may be possible if you're rendering just the face, but i agree, seems unlikely. 

Don't see why they'd need to show off a tech demo of the Fox Engine. We've already seen numerous screenshots of it and Ground Zeroes which will utilise it has already been unveiled and we'll see more of it at GDC.

But yeah it's obviously trolling, but even though I've bemoaned Kojima constantly doing it before at least it makes the anticipation of games more fun.

I don't agree at all. It was just a reference to MGS. For all we actually know, it could be a spin off title. The stuff that happens in the trailer is too irrelevant to the MGS canon to be what MGS5 would actually be about, unless it were an "alternate universe" title. And you also have to bear in mind that Ground Zeroes plays somewhere into all of this, which was previously said by Kojima to be a prequel to MGS5. Would be weird if Phantom Pain was revealed as MGS5 before we even know anything else about Ground Zeroes


Or it could a giant troll, and the stuff in the trailer has nothing to do with the final product. We'll see at GDC

What proof do you have? Phantom Pain could be an MGS spin-off, could be a dream sequence in Ground Zeroes, or a hallucination, or another prequel, or a Vita game, or a tech demo, or just a trailer to hype up people for GZ. There's no proof out there to say for sure that TPP is this or that so saying that all MGS fans should know for sure it's MGS5 is a little silly. We don't even know for sure if Ground Zeroes won't be MGS5. (Yes I know Kojima said GZ will be a prelude to MGS5, but who's to say Ground Zeroes isn't MGS5? Who's to say Ground Zeroes isn't something like the Virtuous Mission in MGS3, or the Tanker mission in MGS2 where it's just the first chapter before the real game kicks in. Maybe Ground Zeroes is one chapter and The Phantom Pain is another, or maybe The Phantom Pain is just one section of Ground Zeroes. Possibilities are endless.)

Just watched it again, no way that was CG.

As well if it was CGI I don't know how he could have shown off those images on his tablet. People are becoming deluded through their expectations for the Fox Engine.
