LED Do not go plasma. Samsung makes a very pretty image. I haven't seen many to match it, not at the price they charge. You don't really need a "smart tv" if you have a gaming console as most of the "smart" features are already available on your gaming device and many are available through your cable provider. 3D? If you are a film lover, right now films are trumping gaming as far as 3D goes. Go slim. Under 3k? Wow. That is a nice chunk of change. A trip to best buy or sears might surprise you at what you can afford, plus they have the tvs set up so you can really see them! Good luck! EDIT: Stay with the "s"'s meaning Samsung, SONY, Sharp (or Vizio).

Go Plasma, Dont go LED, Plasma is wayyyyy better. Also, 3k is a huge amount of money, you can get a good 46" TV for around $700-$800 now.

No it's not, if you're planning to watch 4k movies and it is also future-proof. Just make sure the screen is Amoled.

Thanks for the responses (and for the boobies)
I think it's between Samsung and Sony (LED, not plasma). Could any of you give me either the name of best models or some Links?  Thanks again

Cyberz is correct in that...

Poster are you in Canada or the states I too am looking at tvs and been going over it for the last month or so...

I wanted this one...

http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/lg-electronics-lg-60-1080p-240hz-3d-led-smart-tv-60lm7200-60lm7200/10229371.aspx?path=90ab372644c539bcb59f216e699209a9en02&SearchPageIndex=1

But in Ontario they have stopped shipping it to us... see right now they are selling off all the old stuff... after March the new products will be hitting the store shelves...

April and May we will see a lot of new TVs hitting the market...

No Samsung is the best maker out there... they are also the largest monitor maker in the world...

That being Said... LG and Sharp has been putting a lot of money into their tvs and offer something that is very competitive in specs and costs....

Since I was not able to get the TV I wanted... I am now on the fence of maybe just waiting.... a month or so ..

I want a new tv for the ps4... with that if I can help anyway let me know eh...

here are some others I had my eye on....

Why don't you get a Samsung Plasma? If you burn it in properly for a day or so the screen will last a while and the quality is practically flawless. On top of that, they are not that expensive as Plasma is seen to be on its way out. So you could spend a fraction of the money, get a cracking screen for gaming and perhaps pick up a TV based on 4K or whatever when the prices are far more reasonable. I've been using a 42" Samsung Plasma for the past 4 years, its about done now but I may get another. :D

I have a samsung Plasma right now and LED screen are twice a bright and vibrant out the ass....

that being said... I Like my plasma... and would say I am very pleased with it and I don;t think you could go wrong either way....

that being said.. I am going with an LED next... just much better ratio for dynamic colours and that... it will also last long than a plasma... on paper at least...

WRONG!!!! haha , just kidding. LED is brighter, but Plasma has better contrast and black levels. Since my TV doesnt really get too much direct sunlight during the day, the brightness doesnt really matter to me too much. If your tv is in a birght room and you watch a lot of tv during the day, LED would be better. If your tv is in a dark room or basement and you do most of your watching at night, then plasma would be better with the black levels and contrast ratio. Woooooo plasma!!!! http://reviews.cnet.com/8...-lcd-vs-plasma-vs-lcd/

If you are in a small room though and get a plasma, get ready to enjoy a lovely 80+ degree sweat box.  Have a PC and consoles in there with it and you might as well invest in a small window AC unit.

Haha yeah, they do generate a lot of heat but gaming in your pants is what its all about. Imagine the saving you make on heating during those cold winters as well!

If you want to save money, you can opt to get a black/white TV.
With the muted palette developers are using nowadays, you'll barely notice the difference.
