Nintendo are walking dead at this point - Friday, May 17, 2013 3:07 PM ( #1 )
Don't know how to post tweets nor feel like going all the trouble to do a print-screen and then upload it and stuff. Anyway, don't know who Bob Summerwill is but he supposedly works at EA Sports and says:

"The WiiU is crap. Less powerful than an XBOX360. Poor online/store. Weird tablet. Nintendo are walking dead at this point." -https://twitter.com/BobSummerwill/status/335385936437325825

His twitter (here: https://twitter.com/BobSummerwill) so you guys can read all the other negative comments he has wrote about the Wii U. And let me say, EA are crazy. They should take it easy... One never knows what's around the corner.

Honestly, you could have quoted any twitter account and it would have had at least as much credibility as this random no-name

On topic though, Nintendo has no idea what they're doing. I'm pretty baffled that they've made close to zero first party announcements since the thing's launch. Good thing I only bought it for ~5 titles!

Nintendo sealed its fate when it went after the casual crowd and found success back in 2006.

Alot of what this guy is saying is pure venom.

Is the Wii U "walking dead at this point"? No...

Is it less powerful than PS/360...? No

Have Nintendo completely screwed up their launch window by obscurity and lack of system critical titles... FCK yes!!!

Truth be told, this EA/ Origin debacle aside, if Nintendo had marketed the Wii U in finished form, from launch to now and had on the day of release even just one of their first party system sellers on the shelves then all would be a different story...
Fast forward to today and what are we really looking at? Well not a dead platform or a crippled Nintendo, but a major video game company that desperately needs to revamp marketing, fix a less than ready OS and release some killer apps ASAP!

Even though Nintendo will not hold a press conference at E3 this year, that doesn't mean E3 2013 is not their final chance to really showcase the Wii U to the masses...
They need to bring their A game in a few weeks time and let the world know what Nintendo first party titles are all about on Wii U or the schmuck from EA may just have earned himself a new job as Fudge Pachter's new PA...

Typical boring rhetoric... And not a shred of truth in it>

Nintendo have the success of the Wii console, the DS and 3DS handhelds, having provided and still to this day providing a steady stream of profits straight to the bank.
The situation on Wii U is not a pretty picture by any stretch of the imagination, but saying their "fate is sealed" is false.

If anything they can still turn this situation around. At the very worst Nintendo survives the next couple of years on first party titles alone. And they have the staying power, reach and finances to do it. Is it a good look for Nintendo? Hell no... But it is what it is right now.

When the next true Mario, Zelda drop the Wii U will sell again like it did at launch. Then we can speculate on Metroid, Starfox etc... Other systems sellers like Mario Kart and Smash Bro's have already been confirmed for production...
That's not even considering how titles like X2, Bayonetta 2, Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101 will do for the system to stimulate interest.
Then on the tale end of that consideration we have Ubisofts; Watch Dogs, AC4 and SC Blacklist in the works...

I think they have their work cut out for them, but when it's all said and done, Nintendo are far from over!

WOW you can't be patient can you? Well, the Wii U is the new Super Nintendo IMO. It came out a little per-maturely. It is going to gain strength over time. The Wii U is an upgrade to the Wii. That's why its the Wii U and not the Nintend (whatever). The original Wii was not HD and had no hard drive to speak of. This is what they brought to the Wii U. And the LCD controller. Which is pretty much what you are paying for. By saying that Nintendo is DONE or Nintendo is stupid, your DEAD WRONG. I remember people saying Nintendo was DONE when the N64 Launched. The N64 is one of the most beloved consoles in all of gaming! Nintendo is probably the smartest company! They do not whore out their Iconic characters like SEGA with Sonic or PS with CRASH Bandicoot. XBOX and playstation is all about trying to put out games that are supposed to make you feel like you are in a movie. That's a tired ass format. People are sick of it and are going back to side-scrollers and platformers. Just wait till Mario Kart Wii U and Kid Icarus come out this winter. Nintendo is going to kill it. Nintendo knows the value of it's iconic characters. They will never let them go. You WILL NEVER see Mario Bros, Kirby, Samus, Link, Yoshi, Lucas, Pokemon, etc on an XBOX or PSX, and that sir is why Nintendo is NEVER going away! They don't have to build consoles YOU like, they build consoles that they know their hard core fans want.. FUN STUFF! Not glorified Blue Ray players.
