Apparently he's been very influential, yet I've barely noticed anything about him on N4G. Is it just this website that's seemed to dismiss him?

nope no one cares, back to GTAV wooo.. actually back to work until I can get home and play GTAV woooo. but in all seriousness, its a tremendous loss, but at his advanced age, I wonder how much influence he still had at nintendo.

Wikipedia says he was the single larger stock owner at the company.

Was pretty pitiful seeing the frontpage's top news being centered around some gamestop employee(as if that isn't cliche yet), and Hiroshi's death didn't even make it to the top. R.I.P.

The main problem of user-driven websites. Far too much content submitted to get reactions than report things people should know.
