Beyond:Two Souls Demo - Thursday, October 03, 2013 4:16 PM ( #1 )
I downloaded this the other day and finally got around to playing it last night. I must say, it was amazing! They improved upon everything from Heavy Rain. The story is gripping as expected, voice acting is gréat, action sequences are greatly improved and of course you get to control an other than human entity. Gonna be a great game IMO and can't sit to play the full game. Opiions?

the demo left me with mixed feelings and didn't enjoy it that much. The game felt like a hallway with invisible walls and the slowmo is kind of annoying. The acting and graphics were obviously of much higher quality than Heavy Rain but the gameplay was much more limiting.

Meh. It looks like a cool concept tucked behind boring gameplay. And I think button prompts popping up at big moments would get annoying real fast (example: when she jumps off the train and Aiden makes the shield around her. Big controller covering the right side of the screen.)

Quantic Dream games aren't fun, they're cinematically entertaining. Who has fun watching a movie?

Normal people?

I'd probably believe this had a normal person said it.

I'm still hoping for that, that's why I didn't cancel my pre-order. But considering it's from amazon I'm not gonna be playing it at launch anyway. Spoilers might ruin it for real now... =/

I hope people understand that it's not really a game. I kept telling my friend that it wasn't a game as much as it was an "experience". She loved it, and she hates games. I love how accessible it is and how intense things get. I just don't see myself paying $60 for it because it's not really a game.

Heavy Rain is still the only game my wife has played through to completion.

To be honest, I can't stand these 'game/non-game' categorizations we've constructed recently because of how arbitrary the prerequisites for what we now call a 'game' seem to be.

@B Man

You've ruined my plan!

I'll see it when it hits $20 with DLC included, like I did with Heavy Rain.

but it is a game. You interact with the environment, you can chose the actions of a character, how an scene is played out, etc. You just can't lose. Anything can be called an experience though... Smoking weed, watching a movie, surfing. So that's not a good description at all. lol

But honestly, Beyond's bullet time for action got old fast for me. I rather play with the QTE's of Heavy Rain that don't interrupt the flow of the scene than feeling like I'm playing a The Matrix spin-off game or something. The concept was intuitive but the implementation was tacky.
