midnight release - Wednesday, November 06, 2013 5:17 PM ( #1 )
what do you guys feel about going to the store at midnight to get a game/console? what's the last thing you bought at midnight?

is it bad in your area, do you feel for your safety at all?

i just feel as though when i pick up my ps4 i'll need to bring a shank with me.

Haven't done that since the first Wii, launch day.  There's no issues with safety around here, all major launches have at least one cop patrolling.  I just don't see the point of it these days, and I've never seen the point for a video game that is readily available first thing the next day.

just bragging rights. nothing more nothing less.
the lines are fun. sometimes you see people you know, sometimes you don't, but everybody is there for the same reason like a concert or something.

I do, or I used to anyway. I was this | | close to getting MGS4 at midnight, but decided against it for classwork. Plus, amazon does release date delivery <3

Lol I did it once just because I knew if I was ever going to do it, it would be best if I was younger. I waited in line with a friend for COD:Black Ops. Game was utter **** but I did get a **** load of stuff with it: shirt, hoodie, posters, bandana. I remember when my friends asked me to wait with them for the ps3 launch... they camped out for a day before the launch... yeah I'm glad I didn't do that.

I applaud you for having the courage to admit this.

It wasn't my proudest moment...

@nizzy why is it foolery? If it's for a video game there is usually 300+ copies day one for a midnight release and if it's a console usually the store will give the customers in line an indication of how many units they have so no one is waiting needlessly.

it's foolery cause an empty ride home is sad. no game and no bragging rights... you can't even sound cool trying to explain to your friends why you don't have a copy lol

I do midnight releases on occasion. I did it for every GTA game, my 360 console, a select few other games and I will be at Gamestop at midnight to pick up my PS4.

I had more fun picking up my launch 360 the morning of launch since I was the last one to pick up my console, walking through the mall with a big ol' green box. Lots of people were staring at it as I walked out.

Felt like a boss for 5 minutes.

I'll be going to gamestop on Thursday for sure.

Thursday!

Edit: ya I picked up a 360 before my ps3. I rode a skateboard to the mall then bought and shoved it in huge macys bag and rode back like the wind! That's was damn exhilarating!

I've only done two midnight launches. MGS4 and KZ2. Never doing it again though. I just really needed something to play at those moments and I was all hyped on those two.
